When, not if, physical innovations like "Atlas the Robot" merge with digital innovations like "ChatGPT" is the end nigh?
Or does they present an opportunity to use these innovations to improve our outcomes?
I keep an unofficial list of "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" items. But these aren't on it. Under the right leadership, these innovations have the potential to transform many of our current tasks and responsibilities. In a good way.

Beyond soccer/futbol ... beyond beer ... and beyond the significant cultural differences ... the decision to disallow beer sales 2 days before the event illustrates how critical it is to bring the stakeholders to the table early and to reconcile prickly issues like governance and changes to policy or law. This will be an expensive lesson for the worldwide beer sponsor who was looking for a meaningful ROI.
Lesson? When running an event of any size, be sure to include and gain the support from all of the same organizations that can also torpedo your event.

"I am a visual learner" (Recent course participant)
I used to believe such a thing too, but the premise of learning styles has been widely debunked.
The reality is that we learn the way we choose to learn, which in turn creates preferences and increased capability. It doesn't mean that we can't or shouldn't learn how to learn by listening, viewing, etc.

While I share the author's premise that titles don't make the person, I'd suggest that leadership is made up of not just external actions, strategies, titles, etc. but also an insatiable internal attitude that propels us forward.
Emerging leaders can and should bolster (self-talk, coaching, etc.) that internal dialogue to fuel the steps needed to gain the confidence and resilience required for 'external' leadership.

Big (usually foreign) organizations wanting an injection of innovation sometimes set up a small shop near where other innovations occurs (i.e. Silicone Valley, CA) .
Most of these 'innovation outposts' fail however ... for many of the reasons local outposts fail, coincidentally.
To benefit from planting a person or small team in a far away place, understanding the nuances of leading in a decentralized environment is essential.
Some useful tips are in the attached article. Still have a need or question? Contact us for assistance.

Why Do Innovation Outposts Fail? The steps multinationals can take to create a brokerage environment that fosters innovation.
Labelling someone a "rebel" evokes images of masked marauders, angst-filled teens and toddlers throwing a tantrum at bedtime.
The label has also become a celebrated designation for creatives, innovators, and the like. Especially by academics who don't have to live with the consequences of a rebel's, uh, rebellious behavior.
Forced conformity has it's own challenges too of course.
Capable leaders are able to navigate the sweet spot in the middle by reinforcing desired behaviors instead of labels. A well-led team with diverse mindsets will always achieve more than a collection of 'labelled people' seeking individual glory.
Lastly, search up 'normalization of deviance Mike Mullane' for a video which more accurately describes the important distinction between 'deviating from the norm' and rebellion.
