From Big Band to Bob Dylan, from silly parodies to soulful, meditative spiritual music, Jackie leaves few musical rocks unturned. Her house concerts are always a hit, with plenty of laughter and singalongs. She also leads music at Christian events and performs at small venues. It took me a long time to realize and admit that I suffer from perfectionism. I had witnessed my parents and others strive to do things perfectly. It seemed to wear them out. Sometimes perfectionism is like that … you just keep working and working at something until it beats you down, and you’re never satisfied with it. But there’s another kind of perfectionism—the kind that freezes you in your tracks, forbidding you to even try. That’s the kind that has held me captive lo these 60+ years.
I have a blog hidden away in the interwebs. Sometimes I visit it for old time's sake, and the memories come flooding back ... living with my Mom's Alzheimer's, finding spiritual lessons in everyday malaise... I'm glad I record things, because my mind spends a lot of time in the present and the future, re-learning things from my past.
