Dr. Chris had the opportunity to take his boys white water rafting last weekend. While on his trip, he was reminded that the best rescue, is the SELF rescue.

We are a week into the school year and our teachers are already working hard. Thank you to all who donated to our school supply drive to help the teachers start off right with the things they need.
As we see the first signs of Fall return, our routines are starting to change. We are heading back to school and back to life.
It is important to start the school year off right! Dr. Chris would like to share a few tips on how to pick out the correct backpack for your child. Please check out our video to find out how to pick one that will be the most comfortable while supporting your child’s developing spine.

Most people think chiropractors are back pain doctors, that’s only partially true, we are actually nerve doctors.
As B.J. Palmer once said “Every organ In your body is connected to the one under your hat.”
Meaning the brain controls everything in the body through a series of networks called nerves. If there is an interference of your nervous system, such as a subluxation, pain or dysfunction will occur where that nerve is traveling too.
Yes, chiropractors help back pain but we are doing so by regulating the nervous system and removing those interferences thus reducing your back pain.

Inflammation, congestion and stress can be due to a multitude of reasons both internally and externally. A lot of beauty and household products have tons of chemicals in them to make them scented. Yes, they smell good but those same chemicals can cause inflammation, stress on the body, congestion or allergy like reactions.

Are you always confused on when to use ice or heat? This is a quick helpful guide you can reference!
Ice is important immediately following an injury or ailment and on your joints. The cold temperature narrows your blood vessels which decreases blood flow to the muscles and reduces inflammation.
Heat is better for chronic injuries and heating up stiff or scarred tissues. This is extremely useful before stretching or exercise.
When it comes to resting, the most important thing to do is listen to your body. If you’re feeling sick, burnt out or your resting heart rate is elevated make sure to take the day off and give your body the space it needs to heal and recover.

Sitting to the spine is sugar to the teeth. There has been a ton of research done on what the ideal sit-to-stand time is. The answer is 20-30 minutes. So what that means is that every 20-30 minutes you should stand up for equal amount of time to offset the destructive qualities sitting has.
Hot tip: set a recurring timer on your phone for that length of time and change positions every time it goes off.
You may be thinking “wow I won’t get anything done.” The human brain has been researched so much and one concluded study showed that the brain can only 100% focus without getting distracted for up to 25 minutes.
Could changing positions improve productivity? 🤔 give it a try!
