My little firecracker was born on the 4th of July the year we paid off $90k in debt and screamed “We’re debt free!!!!” That really was the sound of changing our family tree. Jojo was our 4th baby born to debt free parents. We’ve traveled and had many adventures because of the hard work we put in back in 2009-2012. Never thought we’d see the end of living paycheck to paycheck.

Thank you God for opening up our eyes to the possibilities and walking us out of that desert. When life gets bumpy I’m reminded of where we’ve come from and it motivates me to trust, He will make a way again!

The day was beautiful, warmer than expected for Buffalo in early May.

A dear friend sent me this as an encouragement on my swimming 🏊‍♀️ adventure.
Another sweet friend met me at the Y and swam with me.

Two joys in one day. I needed them!

Find a friend to encourage and be with today.
I’m on the receiving side.
It’s an amazing feeling.

She’s the shy one
yet sometimes she takes the stage.
Sometimes
she leads and shows up strongly
even though her brother Leo tends to be the alpha dog.
Lola’s presence is gentle but she can be assertive.
I can’t imagine not having her around.

Maybe sometimes you might feel like Lola.
Stepping out in the spotlight isn’t your usual thing.
Letting others go first is your normal but maybe this is the season you show up
without apologies.
Do it!
We need “Lolas” in the world.
Take your turn. The world wouldn’t be the same without you.

checking my blood glucose every day helps me be honest with the choices. I’m making. wWat I’m eating and I’m managing stress shows up in my blood. Sometimes I celebrate and sometimes I grown, but every day I get to accept where I’m at regardless of where I would like to be. This gives me the opportunity to change the course of my day. That’s very empowering! I can always changemy direction and my focus. No more living with my head in the sand.

Life gets crazy. Lots of ups and downs. So much is unpredictable and can change it any moment. Yet every day I have an invitation to trust and do my best. So today I sit in the sun let the rays soak into my skin, enjoy what is beautiful in this moment.

This book began my personal development journey years ago. I remember reading the title and immediately saying “Yes! I want more than mediocrity!” At the the time, Jamie and I were starting off as new parents, fumbling through our finances, figuring out life as responsible adults. Seems like centuries ago but still so close. I’m looking through our shelves and remembering all the pivotal moments of the last 21 years. dinner tonight. Boy, have we come a long way and we’re not done yet!
