The is ready. I wanted to turn a into a functional with storage. The problem is that Sake barrels aren’t meant to be kept for more than a few months. The barrel’s purpose is to just transport the rice-wine to be served and consumed within a month or so. The wood is not dry, nor is it very strong wood. And since there is no glue, no joinery and no hardware keeping the barrel’s staves together, they tend to fall apart once the empty barrel dries sufficiently that the woven bamboo strips no longer hold the pieces together. So for this piece, I fixed the parts together with wooden dowels and glued the bottom and top pieces together. I added a cushion with matching to make it a comfy seat. I’ll be obliged to use dry, furniture-ready lumber for future editions of this stool. In the meantime I’ll be enjoying this piece at home.
I was inspired by some Japanese (traditional tea crates) and cups (sometimes used for sake) and made my own decorative boxes. I wanted to incorporate some fabric, and here you have it.
I wanted to some old and turn them into a set of . This was a fun little project.
I’ve always wanted my to be fun and enjoyable, wherever you take them. I realized recently that I didn’t have any nice pictures of this second that I made. So we brought it to for a little photoshoot and have some fun. Please enjoy…
Presenting number 9. I wanted to try something different for this one, and it all started here by in . You see, I wanted to try incorporating some steel in this body, and these guys provided me with the metal that I eventually used for the sides on this guitar. I thought about making the whole body out of an oil-drum, but since I am still working on my skate-board guitar series, I decided to stick with the skateboards, and simply add a touch of metal that I got from the awesome guys at Central Burgers. If you’re in my neighborhood, just a few blocks from street, and you’re in the mood for a nice smash-burger, check these guys out. They’ve got good food, a great vibe, and everyone is welcome.
I was happy to be able to make another for .artwork for this of hers that won an award. The goal was to float the sides a bit further from the frame so that we can see that the painting continues around the sides of the canvas. I think we’ve achieved the objective.
number 007. This one is a half acoustic, half electric. Perfect for playing unplugged on the beach or wired in a show. This one took much longer to make since I had to steam-bend the wood to make the sides and then scribe to fit the two curvy skateboard decks to complete this unique guitar.

I recently made this beautiful for my friend, Mani .artwork . The frame gives this beautiful painting a nice, finished look and smells wonderful. I really enjoy Japanese Cypress wood. It smells wonderful and resists humidity very well. I’m currently also using Hinoki in some of my skateboard-guitars and in some lamps. Keep en eye open and you’ll see how and where I use this material.
As always, thanks for following along on my adventure.
Ladies and gentlemen, number 006. The is called or . Like the other guitars in this series this one is made of sourced here in
