So you want to breathe some life back into your brows… but you still have pigment in your skin. Now what? 🧐 Where we end depends on where we start. 👉🏻 If you still have visible pigment in your brows, that determines how much can be changed or added at a color boost, as well as what technique is needed to do so. I always give my guests this analogy- if a wall is painted brown, you can’t add a brown stripe and expect to see it. You’d see it immediately (wet paint = open skin from Microblading), but once it dries (healed pigment) it will all blend together. 💡 If the skin is anything but the virgin skin color, we have limits! It’s important to know that hair strokes done after a color boost will never look as defined as the first time they were ever done due to existing work. ‼️ We recommend 60-70% fading in order to see new hair strokes again. The skin has to be pretty darn light to keep those strokes looking natural. As strokes age they will soften and expand in the skin, which is why fading is so critical! Your previous strokes can supplement your new ones if done right. They will essentially act as shading or “fill” surrounding your new ones if there is room to add. My guest in the video wanted to add a little more fullness so by tattooing onto bare skin and working with her previous strokes, I was able to update without over filling. Once she heals she will have soft hair stroke detail with a powdery fill between. If you want strokes again but still have old pigment, we have three options: 1. Update a few strokes to renew the “fluffiness” 2. Switch into a shaded look to fill the gaps and create overall color consistency (no strokes) 3.
