We've got all our ducks in a row here at the Ranch! 🦆
Today marks the official start of this year's Unity Campaign for Frederick!
One of our most essential goals at the Ranch is to assist our clients in establishing visions for the future and of what life can look like in recovery. Leisure time is a crucial part of this, so we want our clients to have space to relax, socialize, and develop new hobbies during their time with us.
In partnership with the Unity Campaign, we aim to raise funds to refresh our dormitory bedrooms and lounges. We want our clients to be able to truly feel that the Ranch is their home away from home, and that they can be comfortable here.
From now through March 20th, every dollar donated to the Unity Campaign and its partners will receive a sponsored match! Text Unity2024108 to 71777 or visit https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/Unity2024/team/TheRanch to make a donation. We sincerely thank everyone who helps us keep improving so we can serve our clients and community better every day.

Mastering community is something that United Way of Frederick County, Maryland exceeds in! That’s why this month, when you support our indie bookstore by making in-store purchases, you’re also supporting United Way’s 10th Annual Unity Campaign, supporting organizations such as Children of Incarcerated Parents Partnership (COIPP), Literacy Council of Frederick County, The Frederick Center, Blessings in a Backpack, Frederick Chapter, and so many more! A portion of our in-store March sales will go to the Unity Campaign.
We highly recommend reading Mastering Community by Christine Porath to discover just how important thriving communities are to our wellbeing and the success of organizations.

First snow of 2023 here at The Ranch. Equines having fun; swine all tucked in and not interested. 😆
Folks, The Ranch is excited to begin a new job training program here on-site. Thanks to the generosity of The Rural Maryland Council, we have purchased a mid-sized diesel tractor with implements (front and rear) to begin training our clients in heavy equipment operation. This will allow our clients to be more competitive on the job market by giving them valuable skills and experience they otherwise would not have. Our current array of implements includes a front-end bucket, snowplow, pallet fork, and rear brush-hog, and a box scraper. We are on our way to designing a training program to allow folks to become truly proficient with these machines, while also using them around our 204-acre campus to maintain the beauty and safety of this fantastic facility. Special Thanks to Rippeon Equipment for assisting us in finding the best machines and implements for this program!
Hi everyone. Sadly, we must report that our old barn suffered some terrible wind damage just before Christmas. The horses are both safe for now. We are looking into resources to address it and are open to new ideas. Thanks all!
Better ingredients = better food! Great things heading our way here at The Ranch!
