I recently had the opportunity to build another rocking chair and rocking foot rest for a wonderful woman.
This particular woman told me that she is making a quilt for me. It will be issued as a Quilt of Honor.
This is not the first Quilt of Honor that she has made. She is a wonderful person with a beautiful soul and a giant heart! Because of this, I decided to surprise her with inlay in the middle back slat (you may have to zoom in on the picture). Because of her huge heart and what she does for our veterans, the inlay is made of tiger maple and purple heart wood (purple heart because of her huge heart). I also matched the maple and purple heart in the rockers of both the rocking chair and the foot rest.

About a month ago I had the opportunity to rebuild these beautiful benches for a local veteran.
The wood was completely rotted and the cast iron was all rusted.
I contacted Fremont Area Veterans Coalition, they helped me pay for materials. I contacted a powder coater from Lyons that coated them for cost.
This wonderful man is declining in health and wanted to sit in his back yard and watch the squirrels and rabbits.
I am so glad that I have the connections to do stuff like this! What a great journey I have been on since retiring from the military!

Yep, it’s a 14 foot shuffle board table, complete with 3 inch thick solid hard maple playing surface. The lines are inlayed walnut, and the numbers are inlayed walnut with a black epoxy band.
The playing surface weights in at about 300 pounds! All together, stand and playing surface, it probably weighs in at about 500-600 pounds!
The stand comes apart at the middle leg, two 7’ long pieces. The playing surface also comes apart in the middle. There are climate adjusters on the bottom of the playing surface.
Thank you Brad and Julie for another great project! You challenged me this time! It was a blast to build, just thinking about the challenges of such a big piece!

Fremont Area Veterans Coalition and I got to be in the spotlight for the casket flag cases that we make with the help of local donations from Fremont Builders Supply, Christiansen Lumber, and the glass house.
These flag cases are given to local mortuaries to give, free of charge, to families who have lost someone who was currently or had wore a military uniform in the past.
It is an honor to be a part of this program.
