I hang my wire wrap from my degree so I can always see where I’ve been and know where I’m going and how I got to where I am now. Life is balance.

This is the story of "The Binder." Once upon a time, I walked into a target to buy a binder because I got a job with Best Buy. I thought it was awesome, unlike anything I had ever worked before. It was still retail, but it was a job with a bunch of cool electronics that I was passionate about. So, I needed and wanted to take notes during training. I thought to myself, there's no way this thing is actually unbreakable as it advertised. I was wrong, because it's now been probably close to 15 years of dedicated service. This binder has held countless hours of knowledge, personal information, client information, images, business documents, and more. I am sharing the story of this binder's journey because I believe it symbolizes my own life journey. The constant exchange of knowledge. The constant change in direction and the ebb and flow of our lives as we are swayed one way or another by outside influences and personal choices. Today, this binder got the dust blown off it and officially became of use again as I have dedicated it as my Chrysalism Designs binder. It will be loaded with countless hours of research, sample designs, prototypes, and more. I feel like I have taken ownership of my business and my goals, and this binder, once again, is here to support me.

🎉 Exciting news! 🎉

My new website, www.chrysalismdesigns.com, is now live! It's been a labor of love, and I'm thrilled to share it with you all. You'll find my latest designs, portfolio, and more about my creative journey. Please note, I'm still fine-tuning the mobile experience, so stay tuned for updates. This semester I developed an entire brand identity for the fictional kid's restaurant, "Picky Eats." This was really cool and let me really hone in on getting a brand developed from 0 to 100%.

A playful case study of Long John Silver's logo redesign. I thought it came out pretty cool!

Proud to have been a part of such a cool project. The Social Justice Poster Project is a community grassroots project that aims to bring awareness to countless social issues, with a large focus on immigrant rights and immigration policy. My submission to this exhibit was focused on technology addiction. Many of you who know me also know that I am very concerned with the impact social media has on us as a society - especially our children. Social media is not the only addiction, countless kids and even adults suffer from an addiction to some form of technology, whether it's gaming, media, social networking, and more. It has an impact on both our physiological and psychological health and development.
I'm honored to have worked with so many talented students and activists. It was also the first time I got to see my art hanging on a wall for others to see and appreciate.

Couple colorful illustrations! Love working with shading and detail. It used to frustrate me, but I’ve found a sort of respect for the patience more levels of detail requires. The reward is worth it.

Messing around with lettering! Lot of fun playing with multiple layers and different blend modes to achieve the look of flames. Gonna try and have a logo, a website, and an LLC by next year!

Learned how to use radial symmetry on Procreate. It should make mandala and geometric details significantly easier and I can’t wait to see how it affects my art!
