Mountain Top Macrame

I just finished my largest macrame lantern order! 6 custom made lanterns for a wedding, which will be used as wedding decor and then given later to the bridesmaids as gifts. I was so honored to be chosen for this momentous occasion. I even made an extra special lantern for the bride as a surprise gift! These lanterns have always been my favorite macrame item to make, and I am so happy I could help make her Big Day magical and memorable.

Alas, I think this order will also be my last. After 2.5 years of being the proud owner of Mountain Top Macrame, I have decided to close my Etsy shop. It was fun while it lasted, but it's time to focus on other things now. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way! It has been a wild ride and I have learned so much. Not just about myself, but about each customer and the artisan community as a whole. It has truly been a wonderful experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. This custom macrame wall hanging is the largest version of "Mountains and Waves" I have made to date, and my first time working with blue rope! It is ~3' wide x 3.5' long, with wooden beads and feather accents, and a slightly different design for a wider nature scene. I have to say, branching out and changing things up lately feels so good. What do you think? Should I continue to use more colored rope?

When my friend asked me to make her a table runner for her new dining room table, I was excited and honored, but I must admit, I underestimated the task! I had never made one before, and although it was a fun challenge, it turned out to be be much harder to plan and execute than I thought it would be. After a bit of a steep learning curve filled with trial and error, I am happy to say, she was pleased with the final result! Thank you, Julie, for trusting me with creating this piece for your new home! Can't wait to see it with the leaf insert in the table too. The wood is absolutely gorgeous!

This custom piece was made for a dear friend and fellow Flyer I grew up with. I was thrilled to be asked to create something special for her home, and it was my first time working with black rope. Hello world! After a much needed break, I am happy to announce I am back in business. I closed my shop for a little while after the holidays to regroup, refresh, and recenter. My day job was killing me and I just didn't have the time, energy or head space for taking on anything new. Stepping away from my business was just what I needed to focus on myself and my family. But, what I realized, is that while taking pressure off myself and simplifying my responsibilities does help me reduce stress, SO DOES DOING MACRAME. It became clear that making time for macrame WAS making time for myself. This is what my self care looks like. Making art makes me happy. Sharing it with the world makes me even happier! Tying knots may not seem like much to someone else, but to me it is meditative, therapeutic, and healing. I am so grateful to have this creative outlet that I can pour my heart into and also use to bring joy to others! Finding the right work-life balance is always tricky, but I have to say, it feels good to get back in the rhythm with rope.

I am so excited about this new cat bed macrame hammock design called "The Lotus." It features a built in wooden frame to support the shape of the hammock and cat bed (which comes included). I could only find one wooden hoop, so this is a one of a kind piece! If anyone knows of how or where I could find more large, strong wooden hoops to use as frames, I would much appreciate your help. I took a little break from making macrame lanterns, but I have to say, they still have a special place in my heart. I love glancing up and seeing their twinkling lights. They brighten up any room or space with a peaceful, calming and soothing ambiance.
