The deadline to sign up for the 4-H Rabbit Project is November 17. Learn how to care for and show a pet rabbit. Because this is a companion animal project, no auction is involved.

Do you own or ride a horse and want to get started in speed events? Already compete but want to learn more? Come out to our FREE speed event clinic. Haul your horse out, ride with other youth, and get advice from trainer Emma Curvin. Don't own a horse or ride? Come out to watch and learn about barrel racing and speed events.
All riders must be registered in 4-H Online to participate. Helmets required for all riders.

The Etowah 4-H Youth Council gave a helping hand at Wills Creek Food Pantry Saturday. The pantry assists over 400 families experiencing food insecurity.
Youth Council is open to 4-H youth in 6th grade and above who are interested in leadership and public service. Contact our office if you know a young person who would like to get involved.

We played an exciting game of Farmer Feud at Hokes Bluff Elementary School as students learned about Alabama grown crops.

The Alabama 4-H Midwinter Teen Retreat is a weekend retreat at the Alabama 4-H Center that allows youth ages 14-18 to connect with youth across the state, attend workshops, learn valuable leadership skills, and much more. The Alabama 4-H State Ambassadors have done a fantastic job planning this event and have so many great activities planned- you don't want to miss it!
The cost for the weekend is $150.00, which includes lodging, meals, t-shirt, and workshop supplies. Registration will open in 4HOnline (v2.4honline.com) on Friday, December 1, 2023, and close on Friday, January 12, 2024.
The 4-H State Fur & Feathers show will be held on December 1. In addition to poultry and rabbit showmanship, participants can submit entries to photography, art, creative writing, woodworking, and fiber spinning contests. Learn more at the link below.

4-Her Charli and her guide dog, Soldier, enjoyed talking to Oscar Adams Elementary Schoolβs afterschool program about service animals. Soldier especially enjoyed saying hi to the kids once she was off harness.

Many thanks to our SNAP-Ed REA, Tori Ennis, for speaking to the 4-H Youth Council about building balanced meals. They got hands on experience with demonstration food, then learned how food pantries help people experiencing food insecurity. We will use what we learned when we volunteer at a local food pantry later this month.
Congratulations to our 2023 Chick Chain Show winners! These young people worked hard all summer caring for their pullets. Those pullets are now happy, healthy hens.
