Hello all! My name is Marion Marquis. I’m 21 years old, currently residing in North GA, and I am the owner of Peculiar Cat Shop!

🤍🍄 ABOUT THE SHOP 🍄🤍

Peculiar Cat Shop currently sells gently used clothing in many styles and sizes, shoes, books, household, toys, and homemade scrubs. Many are from my own collection and some are secondhand treasures I’ve found along the way!! Some are even still brand new with tags 🙀

🌙🪷 THE FUTURE OF THE PECULIAR CAT SHOP 🪷🌙

I would like to make my entire shop self care based- and I don’t mean just more homemade beauty, even though that will be an awesome part of it! Self care looks different for everyone, and I want my shop to have something for everyone’s therapeutic needs. Therefore, I’d like to expand into selling more metaphysical things such as incense and crystals, homemade self care products, more toys for inner child healing (plus stuffed animals can make unique decor!), cute and comfortable clothing, and one of the best self care activities of all, books! 📚🤎

🌨🍯 THE “WHY” OF IT ALL 🍯🌨

As someone who struggles with mental health issues personally, I’m glad to see people taking it more seriously and helping end stigma. However, we still have a long way to go- and one of the issues many mentally and physically ill folks including me face is being told how to take care of ourselves- others telling us what our healing and self care should look like. However, not everyone’s self care is bubble baths and a glass of wine like we often see portrayed. I believe every individual has their own way of relaxing and de-stressing, and it’s something we should normalize! So when I say I want my shop to be a self care shop, it may mean buying one of my homemade scrubs and taking a bath for some, or buying a children’s book and a stuffed toy for others. Because we know ourselves best, and everyone, mentally ill or not, deserves self care and love on our terms! 💓
