Update on Justice Center Closures:
District and County Courts at the Justice Center will remain closed until Wednesday, July 21st
County Clerk’s Office at the Justice Center will remain closed until Wednesday, July 21st but the League City office remains open
District Clerk’s Office at the Justice Center will remain closed until Wednesday, July 21st but the League City office remains open.
Remediation and building restoration efforts are still underway. We expect limited Court operations to return to the facility starting Wednesday, July 21st.

Update on the Galveston County Justice Center closures after the fire that occurred Saturday night:
District Courts are closed through Wednesday, July 14th.
County Courts at Law closed through the end of the week.
Galveston County Clerk's Office at the Justice Center is closed through Wednesday, July 14th. The League City office is still open during normal business hours.
District Clerk’s Office at the Justice Center is closed through Wednesday, July 14th. The League City office is still open during normal business hours and has increased staffing.
Jury Duty for the week has been cancelled.
Restoration crews are currently assessing the damage to the building and starting repairs. We will provide additional updates on closures as more information becomes available.
A small fire occurred overnight on the 3rd floor of the Galveston County Justice Center. The fire suppression system quickly put the fire out, but parts of the facility received smoke and water damage.
As a result, the County and District Courts will be closed on Monday, July 12th and jury duty has been cancelled. Both the County Clerk's Office and District Clerk's Office in the Justice Center will also be closed on Monday but the League City locations will remain open during normal business hours.
Damage assessments on the facility are still underway and more information on the Justice Center’s closure will be shared as the process continues.
Galveston County will be closed on Monday, July 5th, 2021 in observance of Independence Day.
