I help pregnant mommies have a smooth, ideal birth by providing continuous support, care, and various types of comfort measures to make labor a more pleasant experience. I also provide support for the partner so they can be involved in every way desired and get rest when needed. I also use Young Living essential oils in the labor process (only) if that is something the mother desires.

I haven't had a chance to make a post in a while as life has been a bit chaotic. I'm a bit late on this one but I had the privilege of being the doula for the mama of this beautiful boy!
Mama worked so very hard for so very long to bring this little angel into the world. Sometimes things don't go as planned, and that's difficult and unfortunate but the way she gently and gracefully worked through the parts she could control was incredibly to watch!

Another fun fact- this little guy and I now share a birthday! June 29 ❤️
Meet sweet little Mark, 7lb 14oz, born 6/29 at 7:48 am!!

It's been a crazy week, so I'm a bit behind but I was part of another beautiful, SHOCKINGLY SMOOTH home birth!! Christie, girl, I don't think I've ever seen a baby come so quickly and smoothly after stepping into the tub! You labored beautifully, and that baby seemed to know exactly what she was doing! I'm so honored to have been a part of 2 births with you, girl, and this one was INCREDIBLE!

This morning I was a part of another beautiful birth! I've had the honor now of being the doula for all 3 of this sweet couple's births! You guys are basically like family now. Amanda, I know this birth felt tougher than usual but you did an amazing job once again and birthed a BIG, beautiful boy!! I'm so proud of you and so grateful to be a part of such an amazing birthing team for such a precious family! ❤️

One of the biggest lies told to women during pregnancy and/or labor is that baby is too big! This plants a seed of doubt into parents’ heads that mama’s body physically cannot birth her baby vaginally. That’s absurd!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This little guy was born at home.
12lbs 11oz at birth.
Mama pushed for 8 minutes.
Mama did not tear.
Baby had a 10 APGAR at 1 min.
No gestational diabetes, baby had no blood sugar issues.
This is NORMAL!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Obviously, this cutie was on the bigger side of normal, but for the majority of women, our bodies make babies that we are capable of birthing! Baby being truly too big to fit through mama’s pelvis (Cephalopelvic Disproportion) is rare. Often doctors will use it as an excuse to induce women before their due date, perform a c-section, augment labor with medication, or say it’s the reason for “failure to progress”. Ultrasounds are notoriously inaccurate when it comes to estimating baby’s weight. It has about a 2 lb margine of error (meaning baby could weigh up to 2 lb more or less than what they estimate!).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Most home birth midwives understand that babies and bodies vary and so do labor patterns! Patience is a necessity. For women in labor, the key is movement! Laying in a bed reduces your pelvic diameter by about 30%! Most babies go through a series of rotations to navigate their body through the pelvis. When a mama is stuck in a bed due to medications or policies, it makes it much more difficult for both babies and their mothers. What’s the best way to avoid being stuck in a bed? Stay home during early labor, rest and nourish your body as much as possible to prepare for active labor. Have supportive providers and a doula by your side who trust birth and believe in you.

Last night, I had a very unique opportunity to be my little sister's doula! It was sweet, laid back, with a lot of laughs, snacking, and my sister being a warrior pushing through a VERY long labor!
This morning (10/2/23) at 7:11am, my sweet nephew, baby Jason Alexander was born at 6lbs 9oz and 19 ¼" long! He's absolutely beautiful and my sister, Lexi, did amazing! ❤️❤️❤️

Saturday night to Sunday morning I got to be part of another beautiful birth! The atmosphere I walked into Saturday night was so peaceful. Grandpa was playing the keyboard and singing worship music, Grandma was praying over her laboring daughter, Mom and Dad were working through contractions wonderfully together. It was such a sweet atmosphere of love that continued until baby Levi made his entrance.

Sweet baby, Levi Brannon, was born Sept. 3rd at 9:48am.
8.39lbs and 21 inches❤️
Congrats Brannon family!!

Watching this sweet couple get ready for their baby to come was so heartwarming. There was so much love in that room. ❤️
Mama, you fought a battle! And you did absolutely amazing. I'm so proud of you and am so honored you allowed me to play a part in this beautiful change in your life!
Congratulations!

Last night, I was blessed to be the doula for the sweetest birth! The timing from start to finish was perfect, the atmosphere was consistently peaceful and sweet, worship music was playing, we prayed over her as she made it through the hardest, most beautiful accomplishment of her life.
She was surrounded by family, love and peace as precious little Imogene Elizabeth Williams was born at 7lbs 10oz!
I LOVE attending births like this! It is such a beautiful thing to be a part of that is hard not to get emotional!
I have the best job in the world❤️

I got to work with my midwife as well as another of my favorites again last night!
It's such a sweet thing to have had both of my babies with Tina and then have the opportunity to work with her through the years! Tina Dee Willison, you've become such a sweet friend and I get so excited each time I have a client birthing with you!!
Lyndee, I hope I start seeing you just as often! I love you ladies! ❤️

This week has been a bit crazy and I didn't get the chance to share this! But last week, baby Wesley Kent was born! I've known this sweet couple, Anna and Trevor, since they were in the 6th grade (or somewhere around that)! So to have the opportunity to be their doula for the birth of their 3rd child was such an honor!
Anna had on and off contractions for about a week so when it was finally baby time, it was FAST!! Precious little Wesley was born about 35 minutes or so after I arrived with just a couple pushes! He was born at 4:33pm on June 5th weighing 7lb 15oz. ❤️
Anna, I'm so proud of you and I will be bringing you muffins in a couple days!!

Today I had the precious honor of being the doula at this beautiful birth! Labor moved smoothly, quickly and Mama did such an incredible job! Watching women overcome the hardest thing they've ever gone through and come out triumphant is one of the most rewarding things in the world to me!
Almost every single mother says the words "I can't do this!!" when they are in the transition part of labor (as well as another word I won't type here😅). This may sound strange but I LOVE to hear that because it means 2 things. #1 it's almost birth time!! And #2 we're about to witness Mama do EXACTLY what she thinks she can't do!
This Mama was no exception here, and she proved her strength in how she brought her precious son into this world! Karen, I am so proud of you and so grateful you chose me to support you in this special time for your family!

Benicio Sebastian De La Torre was born at 11:09am this morning weighing 9lbs 10oz!! ❤️

This morning at 11:11am, precious Augustine was born! He is a BIG boy, weighing 8lbs 15oz, with fluffy cheeks and the sweetest cry! His beautiful mommy did an absolutely amazing job and looked like a fresh faced angel the entire time! I feel so honored to have been a part of her birth team along with her sweet mother. Angelina, I'm so proud of you! You did a great job and birthed such a beautiful boy! I will see you in a few days, sweet girl! ❤️
