The Loft NC

It’s been a crazy year and I suck at keeping up with social media but trying to get better. So enjoy our little ninja flogger dude and a huge squishmallow “Bunny” donated to the LoftNC Littles events.

It's hard to believe the holidays are already here and it will be 2022 just around the corner. While 2021 was certainly better than 2020 in many ways, it was still challenging at the best of times. We miss seeing everyone on a regular basis. The LoftNC began as a home providing the community with education and a safe environment to play and explore kink. As we move into the new year, we are moving back to our roots with plans to offer regular educational demos and discussions both in-person and virtually. Our calendar is evolving and all suggestions for classes are always welcome. As usual, all in-person demos will be followed by open play and all are always welcome.

To all our friends, members, family (including chosen family), and those we have yet to meet, we wish you the warmest of holidays. No matter how you celebrate, be safe, eat too much and enjoy those who support you during the year. Reach out to those you haven't talked to and extend a virtual hug, it may make all the difference in their day.

Can't believe summer is half over. We miss seeing everyone and getting our weekly hugs. Hoping everyone is safe and healthy and looking forward to better times when we can get together safely again.

Our current plans are to reopen when the weather starts to cool and have bonfire parties and allow couples/play partners to go play, followed by clean up and then the next ones signed up to play can go.

More details to come later but for now, it's the best plan we can think of to get some play started again.

While we are still closed for social events for the foreseeable future, MSquared- and I gave the Loft a facelift - new paint, signage and more to make the LoftNC even better for you when we are able to open again.

Other news -

YES we are very in support of Black Lives Matter and are working diligently to make sure that our policies (while they have always stated that everyone is welcome and we don't do drama of any sort) will be updated to more specifically reflect our alignment and support of PoC.
YES we are still CLOSED for Socials at this time. With the rise of COVID cases across the country this may not change for some time. Our plan was to be open for small (10 or less) events at the end of August but we will have to see how the conditions are at that time.
YES we are open for private sessions and rentals only at this time. (leather house toys are not available for use)
YES we are meticulously cleaning even more than we already did.
YES we are producing as many Zoom demos/discussions as we can and our plans are to continue to do so even after we open as we feel that these have the potential to reach around the world and education in all forms is invaluable.

Virtual hugs to all

As we continue to watch what is happening in our world each week, we have made the decision to cancel all events through the month of April. As we get closer to May we will re-evaluate the upcoming schedule and determine what is best for our community and if events are possible.

During this time we are still offering private sessions or rentals, however, rentals will no longer include access to house toys or aftercare blankets.

As always the safety and well being of our kinky friends is utmost on our minds and hearts.

CLOSED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS

As we are all watching events across the country being canceled due to situations beyond all control, we feel its prudent and for the safety of our members and guests, to cancel all events this weekend. We will get these events rescheduled as soon as possible. Health & safety are always first.

While we never want to feed the panic, it remains a judicious precaution to close events especially in light of our lifestyle. We can clean everything constantly and urge people who have been traveling or are not feeling well to stay home, but there is always that outside chance that a germ will sneak through. We have been told that if an illness can trace back to our event we would be forced to reveal personal information about guests for quarantine purposes and this is something we aren't willing to do. Your privacy and trust in us as a venue is vital to our well being and your safety.

We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust the calendar accordingly. We will miss everyone this weekend but will hopefully see you soon.

Hugs (even virtual one) are missed :(

As with everyone world-wide we are also keeping an eye on what's going on with the coronavirus/COVID-19. We are fully stocked with Lysol, Sanitizing wipes, hand soap and so forth. We will have stations set up in the kitchen and downstairs so you can use frequently.

At this time we are not canceling any scheduled events. If this changes, the schedule will be updated and if you have RSVP'd to an event that is canceled or postponed, you will be notified.

As with any illness, if you are sick, please stay home. We in kink love to share our knowledge and our love of kink but not the flu, head cold, or corona (unless its in a bottle with a lime for after play time). No this doesn't include seasonal allergies as I think we all have those at this point in the season.

From the CDC, wash hands frequently for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching, if you are feeling ill stay home.

If you've been here before you also know we love our hugs but for now, virtual hugs may have to suffice if you are in any way hesitant about touching in that way. Hugs needs to be consented to as well "may I?" is the name of that game.

Toys, Tools & Basics to get you started!

This B**M 101 class is all about toys and tools! It is geared toward those interested in, or are new to, the B**M community and kinky play. We will cover the basic vocabulary of what is what. Crops, canes, whips, chains, floggers, etc. Also we will cover basic items you can use from around your house: wooden spoon, broom stick, garden hose, chair, forks, knives, even the kitchen sink (okay, maybe the kitchen sink is for an advanced class)! Starting kinky play does not need to break the bank! Pervertables are fun! And you will never look at Lowe’s or WalMart the same again!

We will also briefly discuss negotiations, colors, safety and answer any questions you may have. Don't be shy because I guarantee someone else has the same question.
As an added bonus we will show you how to use sensations to up your game and show what's possible.

FIRE!!!

For millennia, mankind has been awed and mesmerized with fire. Whether it be for cooking, warmth, protection, etc, safely capturing the power of a flame has long been a human endeavor.

Fire is a powerful force, and in unskilled hands can result in serious harm. In skilled hands, a controlled flame can impart a sense of blissful warmth and meditation. Darth Table will discuss the safety aspects of Fire Play, including the types of materials to use and the type of fuel to use (and not to use). After all, it is the fuel that will be burning, not skin! Equally important, he will show you what safety equipment needs to be on hand in the rare instance that something does go wrong. Darth will demonstrate various techniques on his partner that will get them into that “blissful meditative state” and the types of aftercare that may be needed.
After his demo, he welcomes those who may have an interest in learning more, practicing their technique, or experiencing Fire Play themselves.
”If you are planning to do any type of fire play, don't put on lotions, perfumes, body sprays, glitter, make-up and other things that might contain oils, melt, or ignite on the parts of the body you plan to use in your fire play.”
Fire Cupping

Fire Cupping has a long history in China (used as a way to remove toxins from the body) and this therapeutic technique is now also used as a form of B**M play. Glass cups, and the flame introduced into each one before being applied to the skin, can create a warm and soothing massage feeling. Intensity can also be increased in the hands of a skilled practitioner.

Darth Table can frequently be seen at 1763, always in his trademark sports jacket or suit. Bow ties are just one of his fetishes! He also frequently assists with vending for B**M Waxplay, as hot wax play is also one of his favorite activities.

CANCELED After New Years Bash due to weather conditions!

As I sit home today and enjoy the snow and watch the kids play, I'm also looking at the roads which will be melted and icy. Snow is still falling here in Gastonia and we have 4-5" already. Combine that with the gravel driveway at the LoftNC and I think it prudent that we cancel tomorrow's After New Year's Bash.

We will miss everyone tomorrow but your safety is our primary concern.

Upsetting news last night as we found out our Charlotte location is no longer available to us. We are actively looking for a new place and will be in our Gastonia location for all events for the foreseeable future.

May is looking awesome for the LoftNC. This weekend we have Rope Bite with Artemis and next week on the 22nd we are proud to be hosting Phoenix-Eddy. It's a rope packed month so come out and join us. And yes if you don't get into rope, come out and hang with friends, meet new ones, enjoy the energy and maybe learn a new skill.
