Just a crazy hair day for Lu

I let the littles out this morning and they are so happy to be able to spread their wings 🤭 I’m so in love with them. Butter is behind their kennel sitting on eggs. Let’s hope she gets to be a mommy because she wants to be so bad.

Decided to share some of their eggs either them. I mashed the shells in them, calcium is great for strong eggs.

Can’t wait to see what my latest batch of chics look like all grown.

Butter wasn’t up for being their foster momma🙂

I’ve been wanting Polish chickens ever since I started this chicken journey. Today I bought four baby Polish chics. We wanted to see if Butter would foster them since she lost her baby a week ago. So far she’s doing it!

We have eggs available!

We found a nest with a dozen eggs. Since we don’t know how old they are I made a protein loaded meal for the girls and they loved it.

You might have noticed the lack of blue eggs in the cartons. I thought they were laying them under mama chicken because there were several under her. Nope, they’re hopping the fence and laying them across from where I park 🤦‍♀️ Tom caught her today and discovered 22 eggs🥴

This lil momma hatched her first baby this week as found by Tom but she won’t let me see it 🤦‍♀️ She is sitting on about a dozen mostly blue eggs.

We were at Lowe’s yesterday looking at a gutter to use as a chicken feeder. Tom looked in our cart and suggested I use the container the poinsettias were in. It’s perfect! It’s like they’re very own Sonic 🤭

Our girl Millie keeping our chickens safe this morning at 3:30am from a raccoon. She was so proud she had to show the girls what she did for them. Way to go Millie!
