A big thank you to Compeer Financial for their generous grant supporting hands-on learning in the agricultural department at Geneseo, IL School District 228! The grant funds were used to procure essential lab equipment across various courses at GHS. This includes specialized equipment for the new Vet Science course launching next year, as well as supplies for Horticulture, Intro to Agriculture Industry, and Animal Science. These investments aim to enhance student engagement and preparation for future careers in agriculture.

This week, the 2024-2025 Officer Team Retreat was a success. Not only were we incredibly productive, but we also strengthened our bonds as a team. We created our calendar of events selected our National Chapter Award activities and learned how to work together using our personality strengths. We tested our abilities to work together in an escape room!
Our team had a fantastic time and are eagerly looking forward to the exciting year ahead with FFA!

May Chapter Meeting: Minute-To-Win games and incoming freshman involvement! We invited upcoming freshman to our chapter meeting tonight and talked about upcoming events, held relays, eggs tosses, and Oreo races!!

🚣Points Chart Trip!!🚣 Today high participating chapter members went kayaking on the Illinois River. Students were able to work on their teamwork skills while learning about the history of Starved Rock from our tour guides!!

We have so much to celebrate lately! Recently, Dawsyn McDonald completed an application to highlight her work as our chapter reporter. Dawsyn earned a Gold ranking and was named the 11th highest chapter reporter in the state!! She will be recognized on stage at the state convention in June and serve as a flag bearer at the first general session. Congratulations Dawsyn!
