July was a month for two recognitions!! LeAnne Potter, our fabulous MDS Nurse, has been our designated Covid tester for the last three months now! We decided it was only right to give her an extra special thank you! #1 nose picker 😆

Our Admin, Erin Williams, attended ACCOA Center For Active Living - Ashtabula Senior Center golf outting today! It was great being back and seeing everyone!  ⛳️🏌🏻‍♂️

Last Friday our Super Star Activities Director, Char, organized a motorcycle run to visit many of the local nursing homes in Geneva!!

Our residents loved watching them parade by! They even stopped for a while to enjoy some ice cream so our residents could check out their bikes and compare tatoos! 😉🏍

Today we spent sometime outside improving our flower beds! We made it fun by throwing out some awards; our Weeding Queen was Tina Gray, our admissions director! Tina got done with her section first and had the most improved, best looking section overall! Caroline Cross, dietary manager, managed to find and pull the biggest w**d! And shout out Larry from our housekeeping department for pitching in to help us out! Afterwards we enjoyed a nice lunch with Hank, our fruity friend 😁 🍍🦜

Last week we celebrated STNA week with gifts made by our residents, goodie bags and snacks throughout the week! There are truly no amount of snacks to show how thankful we are to have you on our team! We hope you enjoyed the week that was all about you!

James started his career as an STNA years ago and realized his passion for working with the elderly but also fixing things. “The end of the day is always satisfying seeing everything you have accomplished.”

Working with the residents is the best. “They make me laugh and you can’t have a bad day when you are always laughing!”

We are so grateful to have you on our team and love how quickly you’ve jumped in. As Sarah said, you’ve only been here a month?! Feels like you’ve been here forever.

Today is National Iced Tea Day so we were out and about introducing ourselves to our community partners! 🍹😃

Today we enjoyed chocolate milkshakes on the patio during Worship Wednesday 🍦🙏

Congratulations to, Nancy Leonhardt, our first Employee of the Month! Nancy is a staple here at Geneva Center for Rehab and if you have ever walked into this building you have been greeted by her with a smile! Thank you for all you do and all you have stepped up to help with during our transition!

Everyone say Hello to Caroline! Caroline is our Dietary Manager and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have her!

Caroline has worked in healthcare since she was 16 when she worked as a dishwasher. She realized she had a passion for food and loved cooking for people. Healthcare allowed her to peruse her passion of cooking while being able to interact with the residents.

Caroline’s favorite thing to prepare is Chicken Alfredo and let me tell you, we can’t wait to try her secret recipe!! We have already enjoyed so many delicious meals she has prepared and we especially appreciate the thought she puts into making every meal special. Weather it’s using fresh ingredients, grilling out to make the meal an experience or adding a homemade dessert to spice things up she definitely goes above and beyond for our residents.

Thank you Caroline for all that you do! We are so happy to have you on our team. 👩🏻‍🍳

“My father was here for two weeks while recovering from surgery, he needed a little more rehab before coming home. The staff here is compassionate, attentive, and really tried to make my father feel at home. They were gentle and sensitive with his colostomy and educated him when he was ready to care for it himself. We are a large family, who work in the healthcare field, with a lot of input in my fathers care. The staff was so receptive to us; if we needed anything they did their best to accommodate. Today we took advantage of the beautiful weather and grilled out! Caroline made some delicious lemon chicken and filled our halls with the smell of summer cook outs! What’s your favorite food to grill in the summer?! ☀️
