We spent the day celebrating the Dad of the farm by getting the cows ready for the big heat wave coming our way this week! Moving cows around to different pastures to make sure everyone has amble access to shade was all Casey said he wanted for Father’s Day, so we made it happen!
We hope you all have a wonderful week, and stay cool!
Happy Sunday friends 🌧️
It’s been a busy week around here! Building our new handling system, vaccinating calves, new calves from the auction, and getting pastures rotated.
There is always something to do around here, even when the weather doesn’t want to cooperate. We hope you have a wonderful week ♥️
Happy Sunday friends!
Lots happening on the farm today:
✨ castrations and 💉
✨ feeding and chores
✨ herd health check
Then some things off the farm:
✨ shopping for soccer cleats ⚽️
✨ breeding work at the off farm job
✨ time grooming the personal horse
All around made for a heck of a Sunday. The rain has started so time for some dinner to be cooked and relaxing on the couch. We hope you have a wonderful week!
It is not lost on us around here what this holiday weekend means. While it is a chance for BBQ’s, parades, and parties, it’s also a chance to remember the brave men and women that gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe and make this the best country on the planet.
All gave some, some gave all. Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸
Happy Sunday friends!
We had quite a day here on the farm! Vaccinating cows, deworming, and over all general herd health checks. All but one cow went through the chute (IYKYK 🤪) and got looked over and doctored if needed!
We changed around some groups and opened up new pastures to prepare for the warm week we have coming! Now shade will not be a concern for anyone.
It’s going to be a week of catching up around here before we take another load to the butcher and deliver more beef! We hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Happy Mother’s Day 💕
Happy Sunday friends ⛅️
Happy Sunday friends 🌤️
We have lots going on at the farm today! Getting ready for our next group to load out, picking up and delivering beef at some point this week, and hoping to head to the auction on Saturday to get some calves!
But until then we have lots to accomplish here first to get ready for all of those things. Hoping spring is here to stay because we have a long list of things to tackle!
We hope you have a wonderful week ♥️🥩
GUARANTEED 💯 % OF THE TIME... 👇🏻
If I post something about grocery store beef being safe and healthy, I AUTOMATICALLY get people in the comments harping at me "The U.S. imports too much beef, you can't trust the grocery store!"
By the way, that's 👆🏼 250% false.
Here are some tonnage facts about how much beef we import in the U.S.:
"Historically, the U.S. imports roughly 10-12% of our beef supply annually. In 2021, we imported roughly 10%, while in 2023 we imported about 12.5%. Again, that figure has the potential to increase in 2024 based on domestic cattle numbers being lower due to drought.
Last year, Canada was the top supplier of beef to the U.S. with Australia, Mexico, New Zealand and Brazil closing out the top five. Those five nations comprise 88% of total beef imports."
BASICALLY, IMPORTS ARE ONLY ONE SIDE OF THE EQUATION - LITERALLY! The other side is exports, which are an equally valuable component of global food trade [key word: trade].
To read more about how imports and exports coexist in harmony in the U.S. beef industry, I'd absolutely love it if you'd read my latest article on Kansas Living and share it as well. The more you know about how our food supply works, the more confident you can be!
Also, if you want to make a critical comment I fully expect you to at least read the article first. Thanks! ✌🏻

Happy Sunday friends!
It was a “slower” weekend on the farm with two members off for the youth turkey weekend! Cows of course still got fed, watered, and Finn made sure everyone was still in line.
We hope you have a wonderful week ♥️
Happy Sunday friends! 🌤️
It was a busy day on the farm today, and having three sets of hands made the work go much quicker! We got cows moved around to get ready for our first load to head to the butcher tomorrow. Freezer beef season is officially started!
Happy Sunday friends!
It’s a little bit of a different weekend for us here gearing up for the eclipse happening tomorrow. With an expected large influx of people to our area we are going to take advantage of some schedule changes and keep tackling our spring to do list!
Our first load of cows is heading to the butcher next week, if you have been wanting to get on our list for the year feel free to message us! We hope everyone has a safe week! 🌞🌚
Happy Easter to all of our family, friends, and customers!
Happy Sunday friends!
We are fast approaching the start to our 2024 freezer beef season. Cattle have been on a finishing ration for a while now and are looking incredible, butcher dates have been lined up for months, and conversation has already begun with this years buyers!
If you are wanting more information on freezer beef or thinking you might like to be added to our list feel free to message us. We are an open book!
Happy Sunday friends! ☀️
Who else is ready for the weather to just make up its dang mind?! 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏼♂️
We hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Happy Sunday friends!
Winter decided to show back up after our almost 60° temps, but thankfully our cattle handled it like champs! The temps will start to go up again this week, hoping this transition back up goes just as smoothly!
Happy Sunday friends!
When your friends put a hole in the fence you use it as an opportunity to see if the grass is in fact greener on the other side.
Final decision: it’s not! 😂
Have a wonderful week!
Happy Sunday friends!
Today was a busy day on the farm, no day of rest around here that’s for sure! We have finally separated our cows into their finals groups! They will stay this way through our butcher dates. The only other separation that will happen is our larger group of smaller cows once we start hauling to the butcher.
We still have 3 groups, but everyone is now of equal weight to who they live with. We will have to go get a few loads of feed this week with switching our largest cows to a lower protein feed! The cows are liking the temps outside, and happy cows make happy farmers ♥️
Happy Sunday friends!
What else is there to talk about but the weather right?! 😅
It’s been a colder week, with the worst of it having come in yesterday and today. While this would normally be average weather for January here in New York I think we have all gotten used to the mild temperatures we’ve been experiencing. But the cows have been pushing through like champs, and that makes all of the hard work totally worth it!
When temperatures drop into the teens and single digits a few things become very, very important.
1. Access to forage: cows have internal heaters, and digesting forage helps to keep those heaters going.
2. Access to water: increased consumption of forage will *ideally* lead to increased water intake. We make sure that our water troughs stay open for the cows even with the freezing temps.
3. Grain: corn specifically helps fuel those internal heaters as well, so making sure everyone gets up and to the feed bunks twice a day is incredibly important.
But wait, aren’t all of these things you mentioned things your cows have access to 24/7/365? Yes 🙌🏻 BUT when temperatures get extreme we become even more vigilant with everything, because cow comfort and safety is the top priority here.
Temperatures will be rising this coming week so we will be on the look out for anyone that might not take the jump in temps well, and will actually be hoping it doesn’t get so warm that all of the snow melts and turns everything to mud 🫠
We hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Happy Sunday friends!
Since being able to take good pictures in the daylight is proving difficult, let’s do some introductions!
This is our farm dog Finnegan 🍀 He is a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog! This breed was bred to be an all purpose farm dog in Switzerland, primarily they were found on dairy farms. The breed almost went extinct, until it was brought back in the early 1900’s.
Finn does fill that role of all purpose around here on our farm! He may not pull carts full of milk to town like his ancestors did, but rarely will you find us out in the pasture without this guy. He takes his job of keeping the cows away from the gates at feeding very seriously, he loves rotating pasture in the summer, and is always down for taste testing our final product (this part is his favorite 😉).
When he’s not farming at home he’s with Chelsea at her horse farm job, on occasion he’s gone to a stone quarry or two with Casey, or you can find him on the couch or bed under a blanket! The only thing Finn loves more than farming is hanging out with our youngest farmer!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday, who should we introduce next week?
Happy New Year 🎊
We rang in the New Year on the farm by doing chores, having a huge cheese board, and finished it off with a brisket that had been on the smoker all day! Here’s to another year of growing, learning, and farming ♥️
Merry Christmas from our farm to your family 🎄
Happy Sunday from the meeting of the minds at the water trough ♥️
Happy Sunday friends ♥️
Happy Sunday friends 🌦️
It’s been a week filled with wreath making and basketball games. The cows of course are still getting their grain twice a day, sheds bedded down, and water troughs filled!
We hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Happy Sunday friends!
We aren’t sure about you, but I know that we have had our fill of turkey for a while 😂
But all joking aside, a huge thank you goes to all of the farmers that grow everything that we love to find on our Thanksgiving tables! The holidays are all about being with those we hold dear, and usually centered around some fantastic food.
We hope every one has a wonderful week ♥️
We hope everyone had as wonderful of a Thanksgiving as our farm dog did!
