My favorite secret guitar peddle in the bunch of my collection got a make over. I wrapped it in one of my most recent acrylic pours, it even glows in the dark. Love the way it turned out.

New gear configuration with the newly added . It sounds like a whole new guitar. The submarine allows me to run independent pick ups for my 6th and 5th string running though independent pre amps and EFX then into my DAW on top of all my other pick up and sends. This is a game changer for my rig and really excited to share what I come up with. The plus peddle in combination with a unnamed peddle is still part of the backbone of my tone.

First recording test with the new and so far I’m loving the new sound and tone I have created and building on.
Recorded on an acoustic baritone with a total of 6 inputs blended. The 2 bottom strings are in stereo from the submarine pick up. Also with recorded on a V44S in stereo. Lots going on here to still dial in and practice. Cheers. Shout out to my homie sending you positives energy today as my strong support and influencer.

Just arrived. What a gift. Been wanting to try this new pick up to expand my sound even more. for the win. This is well built and sounds great and I’m loving the ability to stereo split my low 6th and 5th strings. Lots of fun creativity with this toy.

“Popalops” Thats what I’m calling it for now. It might not sound like much yet but this is a big level up for me. Diving into some new finger-style techniques for me that I’ve discovered on my own. I’ve been working on this for a while now and finally got something decent to share. Those single hand harmonics are a challenge but it’s definitely expanding my sound. Enjoy

Finally… Aluminum Bronze! New Strings My all time favorite strings finally found it’s way to The Loft. It’s been quite the challenge to find these strings in my preferred medium gauge due to shortages. The guys over at came through and always have what I need. I have yet to find strings that are this responsive and holds up great with my low alternate custom tunings. The low end frequencies I get from these strings are what I love the most. Make sure and check out juststrings.com. They have one of the largest selections for any stringed instrument.

I still can’t find my favorite aluminum bronze strings so in the meantime I decided to give these new string a try over at . Out the gate they have a pretty decent tone and a good firm feel to them. Definitely worth trying out. Note.. for some reason I was unable to get the high E string to hold any tension with out slipping. I was for sure it was my guitar until going back and forth with an older string testing the issue. 🤔

It’s been a slow process but is getting better with practice. I definitely had some fun recording this on my Padauk wood with some controlled feedback. Enjoy..

6 Months Today of amazing recovery!! 6 months ago I suffered several life threatening seizures that greatly affect my memory and caused me to basically have to re learn the guitar again, amongst many other things. The brain is quite miraculous in that it has the ability to heal it self and reconnect all those neural pathways. It didn’t take much time to back in the grove with lots of practice and support. I even had a special friend send me one of my old recordings that I had absolutely no recollection at the time of how I ever played it. Once I was able to relearn it, that was a big step in my progress and felt very rewarding. During that time I also managed to complete and graduate a 4 month intensive outpatient program which inspired me to write my song “Ladders”. (I hope that have that finished and recored soon to share). I am very grateful to be alive today and I thank everyone that has been supportive on my path - LoftTones.

Untitled-First time ever trying out this type of harmonic tapping. I just came up with this riff today so It’s pretty rough but I wanted to share my progress anyway. Custom open Bb tuning. I hope you enjoy.

Purple Rain… About 5 years ago I recorded my armature version of Andy Mckee’s finger-style arrangement of Prince - Purple Rain. Although I use a slightly different tuning on my baritone than Andy uses, I thought it was pretty rad to find someone else using a very close version of the tuning I developed for my baritone. I rarely work on covers but this one was a special request to have posted. Link to this song and my other originals in my bio.
