It’s been almost two weeks since the kickoff and we are still winding down and getting back to our AZ routine. It was a beautifully curated event with a gorgeous selection of visual, interactive, and performance art. I LOVED seeing my long time favorites :vanilla

and finding new favorites to adore:

And so many more! 10 photos wasn’t enough, I’ll try to get more into my stories!
Congrats to all who participated, hope to see you next year!

Tiny Cor was nestled amid more traditional sized festival pieces and while I was happy to simply have her there, I received news last night, the last night of the event, someone saw her and she spoke to their heart. ❤️❤️❤️ I am thrilled both my original pieces are headed to their new homes. 🙌🏻🍾

Doesn’t matter how many times it happens, that red dot 🔴 thrill never gets old. 🥰 Parting with a piece I love is bittersweet, but I am overjoyed when my work resonates with another human enough to where they want it to be theirs. Only one more day left of ! Join the fun and help close down the party tomorrow from 12-4!

I can finally post! Decisions were made official yesterday. The Seeress is one of the two pieces I’ve had accepted into the Seattle Erotic Art Festival this year. I can’t wait to see everyone in April!

The Seeress, a mysterious and powerful mythological archetype, is often represented with a blindfold and in the company of laurel to inspire divine frenzy. She gives herself up fully for the ability to foretell the future and perform magic. The Seeress is at once free of the mortal plane, yet bound as oracle in body and soul to her deity.

Jewel has been added to the webshop.
Creepy crawlies make pretty baubles.

Chrysochroa buqueti, also known as red-speckled jewel beetles, have beautiful iridescent carapaces that may act as a form of camouflage on shiny leaf surfaces.

And just like that two of my favorite pieces are gone. 🥲 I’m thrilled Passion Paradox and Inner Peace Paradox both went to a wonderful collector this evening who braved horrible traffic to pick them up. I couldn’t be happier knowing these two will be displayed with love in a home that already houses two of my other original paintings.

🧠 Dreaming in Cajal 🧠

This is still a but I’m excited to talk about it.

I started a new piece about a week ago for the art history live painting aspect of the history show at

While there are an incredible number of historical artists I admire, medical art/ illustration is a greatly undervalued genre of art and I wanted to highlight that. Please see the incredible work of and two of my personal favorites. As the theme of the show was history, I decided to focus on the father of neuroscience, Santiago Ramón y Cajal, who also happened to be a remarkably talented and detailed artist. Cajal was a Spanish neuroscientist and pathologist who specialized in neuroanatomy. At the top of the list of his many scientific contributions is his demonstration that the relationship between nerve cells was contiguous rather than continuous—there are gaps (now called synapses) between neurons, yet neurons are still able to communicate with one another. This provided definitive evidence for the foundational neuron theory of modern neuroscience.

I maintained a limited color palette (pewter blue-green, vermillion, black, and white) which is always a bit challenging, and still have a long way to go with painting the endless number of the dendrites. Hoping to finish this week. If you’re a neuro enthusiast you may recognize the inspiration…the neurons featured are based off an 1899 drawing from Cajal of Purkinje neurons from the human cerebellum. Cajal’s drawings were painstakingly created to replicate his microscopic observations and are incredibly accurate.

Does it freak you out that we get to view and contemplate the inner workings of this crazy organ WITH said organ?

🔴 SOLD
One of my favorite tiny pieces, Immortals, sold last week to an amazing friend. I am SO HAPPY I know she’s going to a good home where people love and appreciate creepy sea creatures and random jellyfish facts as much as I do!
Did you know jellies are, in a sense, immortal? In the polyp stage of their lives, when conditions are right, they can clone themselves through a process called strobilation which results in numerous exact copies of the original polyp! Nifty! They also don’t have any eyes, heart, bones, or brain, and honestly some days I feel that too.
