Our Dads' Club Poker Tournament Fundraiser is less than 24 hours away! The night begins at 6:30 p.m., Friday night, October 6, 2023. The poker tournament starts at 7:30 p.m. sharp. Come join us, even if you're not playing poker. This is a great opportunity to socialize and meet new people.

A $150 buy-in gets you $2,000 worth of chips, but as a bonus, a $200 buy-in you get $4,000 worth of chips. There will be re-buy opportunities on a limited basis (depending on the number of players). We ask that you pay in cash (no Zelle or Venmo).

We'll have a taco stand on hand and plenty of beverages (both kinds). The winner and second place finisher will get cash prices (amounts TBD) and the winner will receive this awesome and amazing coveted trophy (see below). Winning cash is great and all, but this trophy is something else. We have a good number of players RSVPed. Today, the Verdugo Woodlands Dads' Club pauses with our entire school community to remember the lives lost during the Armenian genocide. We stand united in our resolve to make a better future together, and renew our pledge to never forget.

We need dads and moms alike. Parents who can dance (badly), sing (decently), act (OK), and do other things to help put on the show. Sets, makeup, costumes- whatever sounds fun to you. And did we mention talent isn't at the top of the requirements? The desire to participate is everything you need.

The First Annual Dads Club Chili Cookoff was a big success on Saturday!

Ten(!) chefs brought chilis, and everyone tasted them and give their opinions. They were all excellent quality, so judging was difficult. We asked folks to pick their top 3, and the one that made it into the most lists was declared the winner, so... (drumroll, please).... congrats to Haik Alexanians, who took home first place!!

Thanks to Dave Novo-Lake, who came up with the awesome idea and organized a super fun event.
