The Cape Ann Pride Coalition is a grassroots organization of diverse people dedicated to celebrating, supporting, and creating community among the LGBTQIA+ residents and workers on Cape Ann, MA, and our Allies. #CapeAnnPride.
Things worth celebrating, even this week:
These LGBTQ+ Candidates Made History on Election Night In both blue and red states, q***r and trans candidates set new precedents for political representation.
We know that last night's election results have given many of us (and those who care for us) feelings of disappointment, anger, grief, confusion, exhaustion, uncertainty, and more.
Please take time to take care of yourselves in whatever ways you need to, whether that's getting right back in the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights or taking some time "off." If anyone is in particular need now or on the days to come for mental health assistance and/or other specific resources, please consult our Resources Page here: https://www.capeannpride.org/resources
We know that trans people, especially trans youth and their families, along with q***r BIPOC people may be feeling particular levels of stress and fear right now; let's remember there are levels of relative safety and even "privilege" within our own LGBTQIA+ community.
Cape Ann Pride will remain committed to celebrating LGBTQIA+ lives, history, and culture on Cape Ann, to educating people about our communities, and to fiercely advocating to protect our rights.
We'll move forward with community, determination, and joy. TopFans

Happy !
Whether you're out to everyone you've ever met and their cousins' dog-walkers, to circles of your friends, family, colleagues, and faith community, to a "small" number of people, or even "just" to yourself: We see you, we support you, we celebrate you.
There's rush and no race to come out, and no single best way to do so. For many if not most of us, "coming out" is not a single day or week or month--it's a lifelong process of coming out over and over again as we meet new people and encounter new contexts. And that's both great and--sometimes--tiring.
The important thing is: you're the expert on yourself. If this is your "day" to come out--we're with you in celebration and support. If it's not "right" for you to come out for any reason at this point in your life--we're with you, too, in celebration and support of YOUR journey.
If you or someone you know needs help and connections to resources for the LGBTQIA+ community, please check out www.capeannpride.org/resources
And, if someone comes out to YOU, today, the single best thing you can start the conversation with is usually: "Thanks! I'm honored you told me. What do you most want me to know about what this means to you?"
