It has been twelve years since I opened LeCheveux Salon. I have had so many good experiences there I can’t begin to name them. After a long road of the unknown I have decided to close my salon (for now). I would like to thank everyone that ever worked with me at LeCheveux Salon. We are all of part of that team and helped to grow that salon. Our first group started in March 2004 – D’Nea Rouyea Millet, Meggan Martinez Villnuve, Lindsey Diez Mathews. They had lots of opportunity to grow their business, and all have had successful careers. I’m so proud of them all. I hope I helped all of you follow your dream just as I did. As we grew LeCheveux Salon together, each girl had new ideas. We added new stylist to our team along the way – Angela Wheeler Babin and Lydia Bourgeois Haymon. We really started expanding our color techniques in those years. Angela introduced us to Joico and helped to expand our color techniques. Lydia, a true artist, loved adventuring into new ideas. She allowed us to use her as our guinea pig. She was always willing to step out of her way to help someone. Each girl learned from each other. Sometimes there’s idle time in a salon when you are starting out, but there is always a learning opportunity for a stylist to observe and learn. I reached out to Megan Martinez Babin a lot at that time for advice from her team with Paul Mitchell School for new hires. She sent me our next great asset to our team – Nicole Guidry. WOW, I don’t know where to start. She added so much to the business side of the salon and brought our salon to the next level with our computer. We added the internet which helped us to build a client data base with the ability to schedule appoints from anywhere or anytime. We also started using social media and developed a page to help circulate our work. We also had an opportunity to work with Krista Bourgeois from Paul Mitchell School. Her teaching experience helped bring back some of our forgotten basics from school. As with any business lots of opportunity develops, as one door closes another opens. Then came Suzanne Bourgeois (Suzi Q). She was the only stylist there that had been the industry longer than I had. She has a personality that could bring everyone full circle, and the girls had another seasoned stylist to gather around. There were lots of times, honestly, when I did not know who was teaching whom. Were the seasoned (old) teaching them, or were we learning from them? Then along came my next smiling face – Elizabeth Bozeman Braud, always a pleasure to be around. She joined us willing to grow with every challenge. Her soft spoken demeanor kept us all as one – our dream team. I loved working with these girls every minute. They definitely carried our salon with pride. As many of you know we won the world cup for hiring shampoo/receptionist. There has been so many – thanks to everyone who helped. One of our last assistance came in as a graduated cosmetologist – Cori Martine. Cori loved being around these girls. As she built relationships with each girl she began learning the ropes. She is also on her way to building her career. As social media took off there was a need for a glamorous make-up artist. We snagged the best – Ashley Keller. In her time with us we soaked up as many make-up/beauty tips as possible as she shared her education with us. Our last smiling face is Daniela Edwards. She worked her way in the salon industry long ago. She started with us in high school as part time and loved the industry. She went to beauty school and worked with us this last year. Last but not least, my daughter D’Nea Leigh Rouyea Millet – who made this journey possible. D’Nea’s passion to see the beauty in other people started long before beauty school. She developed relationships between school, dance and the salon and had lots of time to observe and expand her creativity. She started creating prom/homecoming hair for all of her friends by her sophomore year. She convinced me to allow her to go to beauty school and has progressed as one of our communities’ finest stylist. We have worked side by side for twelve years. We taught, we learned, we shared experiences together and, hopefully, encouraged a lot of people along the way as they helped us. I also can’t forget my mentor/teacher – Mrs. Sue Juneau who took me under her wing for five years. There were many opportunities to learn from ms sue along with my co-worker Penny Amedee. Thanks so much!! D’Nea has decided to choose AMBER NICOLE SALON for her next journey in life. I’m sure everyone she works with will share my experience of her journey as a great stylist in our industry. I can’t say enough about my last twelve years with LeCheveux Salon. I have seen so many people grow around our community and will cherish the opportunity God gave me to pass it forward. We have created lots of hair styles, starting with dances, weddings, babies (lots of them) funerals and everything in between and I have loved every minute of it. I will be going to HAIR TRENDS for some much needed part-time work. I will still be behind the chair but at a slower pace. You can still reach me at my salon number 225-644-8176. LeCheveux Salon will close May 4th all of our retail is marked down, come by for great savings.

THIS HAS ALL BEEN CREATED BECAUSE ONE MOTHER COULD NOT SAY NO TO ONE DAUGHTER.

Thanks to everyone that patronized our business over the last 12 years. Alysha
