Many of you know Bryan Hutson, a great lead singer who has filled in with us on several occasions. Bryan’s brother, Jim, has passed away after a long illness. Please keep their family in your prayers.

It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of our former lead singer, Michael Helwig. Mike passed away on Christmas Eve. Mike endeared himself to so many people with his magnetic personality and tremendous vocal ability. His bout with ALS further strengthened the love people had for Mike. Our love and prayers go out to his family and friends.

This Grammy nomination is very special for the Blackwood Brothers. We recorded this album to honor Elvis Presley and his love of Gospel music. As a teenager, my dad took me to meet Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie, when she was just a baby. Elvis was so proud to introduce her to us. We were humbled to be asked to perform two of the songs at Graceland for Lisa Marie’s funeral this year following her untimely passing. We are honored to be nominated for Best Roots Gospel Album!

music legend, Mylon LeFevre, has passed away at the age of 78. Best known for his song, “Without Him”, Mylon was a pioneer in contemporary Christian music.

Remembering Roy Pauley

Singing News has learned that longtime columnist Roy Pauley, age 74, passed away during the early morning hours of Saturday, August 12, 2023. Mr. Pauley, who had written for Singing News for more than four decades, had waged a courageous battle against cancer for the past several months.
