I’m excited and honored to be part of the Cedarburg Artist Guild, Annual Juried Exhibit again this year with three pieces in the show! We have such a vibrant arts community! We dropped off 3 pieces in Madison at Hatch Art House for their Eco Squared art show. All work must use recycled materials and be square. Opening soon!
All all textile collage using recycled clothing, vintage linens and other textiles. The work includes cyanotype, block print, rust dye, acrylic paint, machine and hand stitch. I’m excited to be part of this show 💚

If you like learning new skills and getting to get together with creative people, these workshops are for you! No skills necessary but the introduction to these two techniques will be open ended and give your creativity room to grow!!
Saturday 8/17 Bundle Dye a silk scarf (square or rectangular) and print on watercolor paper.
Sunday 8/18 Cyanotype on pre-treated cotton and paper. Also learn to treat your own materials and experiment with wet cyanotype. Follow my link for more info and registration.
Maximum of 10 students per workshop. The workshops are on beautiful hobby farm just north of Cedarburg in the Town of Grafton.

Symphony is part of the Spring Show open now at The Pink Llama Gallery in Cedarburg, WI.
This is a framed ecoprinted paper (with fresh flowers) and textile collage with machine and hand stitch.

New work this weekend at for a trunk show with
Ecoprint, shibori and bundle dyed scarves and shawls. One of a kind!

I delivered three mixed media collage pieces for nature and bird lovers to the Blizzard of Art show, part of Main Street Gallery in the Cedarburg Cultural Center. Ecoprint on watercolor paper, vintage illustrations, fabric scraps etc with stitching.

Finished this small piece for a sample for a large one. Vintage silk, linen, rayon, cotton, gesso, machine quilted and hand stitched. “Held Together” is
5 X 5 attached to a cradled board.

With thrifted, like new frame.

Just finished- A piece that I was not completely happy with and let sit for a while. I gave it some more time and TLC and I think that “Marsh” is ready for this great thrifted shadow frame! Original art at a slightly lower price point because I recycled this frame.

I started this piece long ago and planned to finish it differently. I’ve framed it in a hard wood, thrifted, deep frame that kept the price low. It’s ready for the Art Studio Tour next weekend!

We love walking by the praire in Tendick park. All seasons are beautiful. We missed the monarch’s this year (too late I guess) but the asters and goldenrod are beautiful!!

The CAG -Annual Juried Exhibit is open. I’m really thrilled and surprised to receive a second place for 3-D entries in this beautiful show with so many talented artists! “Honoring Florence” is a pair of prayer flags created with vintage hankies that I purchased at an estate sale from a local woman, Florence. They are original cyanotypes on the vintage hankies are stitched to silk organza flags using a Korean style patchwork technique. (jogakbo) I love connecting generations and hopefully making the vintage textiles, often forgotten, relevant again.

I’m going to be on the CAG tour this year! October 13,14,&15.
