The FORMA C-2 speaker is a strong success!
Modeled after the famous Sequerra Met-7 speaker from the 1970's. Just a fun project to further test my engineering skills.
It started life as a Chinese Rice-wood speaker with the worst drivers I have ever seen in my life. They went in the trash. We added a time-aligned step for the woofer, and gave the very poorly veneered cabinet at least (5) coats of epoxy and sanding, then some Aviation paint. At the right angles you can still see the wood grain ! A simple crossover on the woofer, and a 3rd-order + anti-resonance crossover filter on the tweeter provides a very fatigue-free sound with amazing bass for the size. The multiple layers of epoxy really hardened the soft rice wood making the cabinet very inert.

Another experimental speaker design. Not the first one to try this concept. Using an existing cabinet to keep costs way down. The goal is an elimination of 'group delay' and 'pulse response' ( causing a smearing of sound between the woofer and tweeter). When effective, the speaker literally dissapears and just projects a 3-D sonic image of the recording.

My friend Jeffry Caputi is going to add a finish, to make them look reasonably presentable.....

Headphones LP We upgrade existing speakers, and hand-build new Loudspeakers for people who take their music listening a bit more seriously.......

Photos from FORMA SOUND's post 09/08/2023

Take a 1980's Vandesteen 2C, remove all the cosmetic trappings, gut it of it's tired, worn out and dated drivers and cross overs, and re-create the speaker from a different perspective: a full range speaker designed to stir the soul, not just the senses. Danish tweeter, Carbon Fibre midrange, and Aluminum cone woofer, in a vented enclosure tuned to 43hz.

09/08/2023

A former Klipsch enclosure, gutted, braced, lined with bitumen felt, drivers upgraded, new crossover filter created. Now instead of sounding strident and annoying, you get to actually listen to, and enjoy, THE MUSIC.....The Form and Feel of the music. FORMA.

Photos from FORMA SOUND's post 07/11/2023

New filter build for the Dynavox/Dynavox 6.25" two way speaker, born out of recycled KEF Corelli speakers. The filter is a Bessel configuration with class-leading pulse and phase repsonse, with impeadance compensation so no amplifier oscillation will occur, no matter how small. Should image like a mo-fo.
