I firmly believe that each person I see at Serenity with Sabado was hand picked for me. It’s such an honor and privilege to be let into their space and allow me to accompany them to healing. I learn so much from my clients each and everyday and I am eternally grateful. To do this work is tough but so beautiful 🫶🏽🤎🤍

Being the first to go to therapy in your family is HUGE. If no one has told you this already, I see you doing that werk and I’m so proud of you and so are your future generations✨

✨EMDR TRAINED ✨

I have been wanting to get trained in EMDR for a while. EMDR uses bilateral (right, left, right left) movements of the eyes or tapping on the body to help reprocess a negative, traumatic event.

EMDR can be quite intense, but if done correctly, can bring healing. When our memories are un properly stored, they come with anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc. When we use EMDR our brain 🧠 knows what to do to move to healing. EMDR reprocessing leads to positive beliefs about our current self and allow us to see our traumatic memories as simply that, just memories.
🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠🧠

when we experience a traumatic event or a trauma in general, the world can feel unsafe. Even in places where we know we are logically safe, our brain is stuck in survival mode. Surviving can manifest in anxiety, depression, and other clinical diagnosis. In order to live a prosperous life, we must process and sort through our traumas.

🚨PSA 🚨
It’s a tough journey, be patient with yourself.

people are going through it these days. Stress is at an all time high. Humans do not thrive in uncertainty. The least we can do is be kind to one another.

There is nothing more profound than hearing this in a session: “Now that I’m saying it out loud, I realize this is a cycle, I’m doing this to fill a void, etc. (fill in the blank of your realization).”

Healing takes processing. Healing takes talking about the ‘stuff’ we’ve tucked away for so long and looking inward. It can be hard, but it’s so worth it. Therapy isn’t just talking, it’s processing.

CHOOSE HAPPY {if you can.}
sometimes “choosing happy” isn’t always that simple or that easy.
sometimes days are rough and we might cry a little bit, but let’s keep moving forward while healing ✨
