Face Masks Required
In compliance with an executive order issued this afternoon by Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, face masks will be mandatory for all GPISD students and staff in all District campuses and facilities effective at 11:59 p.m. tonight (August 11, 2021). The District will update our health and safety plan to reflect the mask requirement for all students and staff in any GPISD facility.

More Than An Application
GPISD encourages our families to complete the Free/Reduced Meal Application for the 2021-2022 school year. The application provides more than free meals. Although every student in GPISD will receive free breakfast and lunch this year, completing the application gives families the opportunities for other services such as:
• Completing the application is the first step toward qualifying for P-EBT funds. The application must be completed by Aug. 28 to be eligible for Summer 2021 P-EBT funds.
• Additional funding for your campus.
• Reduced or waived fees for academic testing like ACT or SAT and college application fees.
• Benefits continue through the first 30 days of the 2022-2023 school year.

Opportunities for Appreciation
1. Nominate your teacher for a state-wide recognition at teacherscan.org.
2. Decorate your At-Home Academy work space, chalk your thank yous on the sidewalk or fence, make signs to thank GPISD educators.
3. Video your “Thank You” in a 4-5 second clip and email to [email protected]. the videos will be put to music so you don’t have to speak, just share your signs, sidewalk chalk, or creative silent Thank You. Dancing is encouraged.
