𝖧air is acidic with a happy pH of about 5.5
(This pH level is important to fight off any bacteria that could live on the scalp)

∙ The pH scale ranges from
1 being the most acidic to 10 being alkaline.

Substances that are low on this scale, acidic// close the cuticle of the hair increasing shine, luster, volume, counteracting frizz.

* The higher the pH in a substance applied to the hair, the higher its cuticle will lift. Possibly leaving it dry and feeling rough to the touch.

Substances high on the ph scale (relating to hair) are things like

* Hair Lightner
* Hair color
* WATER
MOST TAP WATER HAS PH RANGING FROM
6.5-8.5

Look for products that range between 4.5 to 5.5
and lower if your scalp is in need of rebalancing or if your looking for extra shine!
Also if your aware of your products ph levels // Condition with a product with a lower ph than your shampoo!
These products will assist in the closing of the cuticle leaving the hair feeling shiny!

PRO TIP!
This is why acidic glazes are so important!

Coloring and lightning services contain super high pH levels leaving the cuticle wide open.

Products like redkens shades eq are use in the salon as a glaze (toning) service// they are ACIDIC BONDERS!

Meaning// the ph level being so low it counteracts the high ph of the Lightning and coloring service, slamming that cuticle back down and leaving the hair feeling shiny and healthy!
