@sbeckett44 ‘s new method for giving Hannah a bath since she refuses to sit down or tip her head back in the tub. I died when he showed me “his new method” for keeping soap out of her eyes 🤣. #dadgoals

Why is food addictive? There’s only a handful of topics that make me more angry than this one....

Phonological process chart mentioned is saved under the highlight “speech tips”.

Why it’s important + developmental norms + how to facilitate from a licensed speech therapist

In honor of Hannah’s birthday week, I thought I’d share the moment we found out we were going to be parents. This was by far the happiest moment of my life ❤️ A moment we were completely unprepared for. We had finally given up on trying. Finally accepted that the odds were not in our favor. We finally fully surrendered it to God. We tried to rush surrender in past months but this time we truly surrendered - I threw away the test strips, stoped tracking, stopped planning our lives around cycles, and we actually didn’t try the month before just because I needed to prove to myself that the world would not end if we didn’t try. We were 4 weeks into trauma training to become foster parents and it happened. I’m convinced God has a sense of humor. Just when we think we’ve figured out the plan, they change. I remember the night before at 9pm asking Stephen if I could take a test (I was like 10 hours late at this point 🤣). My heart was pretty hard at this point with so many negative tests in the past, but I felt different and I couldn’t explain it. He told me he wasn’t making a trip to the store at 9pm and to not get my hopes up. His heart didn’t want to be disappointed any more than mine and this had become our typical response to any glimmer of hope. The next day it still hasn’t happened. I remember my heart pounding as I drove to Meijer to pick up a test after work. I almost took it there but I have a small fear of public bathrooms 🤣 I got home and took it right away. I finally saw the two lines I had been dreaming of for years. That moment still takes my breath away when I think of it. And here we are, with our almost one year old. It’s hard to believe that there was ever a time that we didn’t know her. *and if it wasn’t clear in the first line...this is a throw back video...not an announcement 🤣 #pregnancyannouncement #heanswered #1samuel127 #askseekknock #1in8 #highschoolsweethearts #mytinymoments #savedbygracethroughfaith

Common Myths and Tactics from a Pediatric SLP

A few sample moves to try out from this mornings workout ❤️ finally able to take some advanced options. This program has seriously HUMBLED me with 2-5lb weights!

My client Kim said it best, “Total Body Badass 74/100. Enjoying the feeling that Jericho went easy on me but then realizing that it’s not that, I’m just stronger.” Couldn’t agree more, Kim! Must mean it’s time for us to up those weights again 💪🏻 #strongertogether

Reasons to workout with your SO: 1. Increase your happiness with your relationship. Lab studies show that after jointly participating in an exciting physical challenge or activity, couples report feeling more satisfied with their relationships and more in love with their partner (Aron, Norman, Aron, & Heyman, 2000). 2. Increases your emotional bond. Nonverbal mimicry helps people feel emotionally attuned with one another, and those who experience or engage in it tend to report greater feelings of having “bonded” with their partner. Exercising together provides an opportunity to create such connection, benefiting both your health and your relationship. 3. Improve the efficiency of your workouts. A long-standing concept in social psychology is that the mere presence of someone else affects your ability to do an activity (Zajonc, 1965). Even if you already feel competent doing a particular exercise, bringing along your romantic partner may be a fantastic way to boost your energy output. Your partner’s presence will improve your speed, without you necessarily being aware of their influence (Bond & Titus, 1983). 4. Help you achieve your fitness goals. When partners care about fitness—their own and their partner’s—it becomes easier to achieve fitness goals. . . . . #coupleswholift #athomeworkouts #marriedlife #highschoolsweethearts

Today’s workout: Total body badass- Hands down my favorite workout style in this program🏋️‍♀️. Nutrition was 💩today. I’ll give myself some grace since it was my first day back at work and I’m learning how to navigate this whole pumping situation at work. I didn’t have enough time to eat + pump, was starving when I got home and ate everything in sight plus some pizza 🤷‍♀️. Today’s wins: I got my workout in, Hannah took a bottle for my mom, I didn’t cry at work and my last client canceled so I got to come home and get baby snuggles early ❤️ All in all, a good first day back! . . . #speechie #workingmom #speechlanguagepathologist #14weekspostpartum #newmomlife #postpartumworkout #metime

One of my favorite pelvic floor strengthening exercises! . #thirdtrimester mamas-to-be, do not ignore strengthening this muscle! . You have a lot of extra weight being supported by your pelvic floor muscles and the last thing you want is “saggy” muscles for delivery and after birth recovery. . I do 3 sets of this move for 1 minute a couple of times per week. This is a round muscle so you’ll want to work it from different positions. Also, make sure you squeeze your butt at the top of your squat to get the most bang for your buck 👊. . You can also throw in some shoulders to start training for #momarms. Working your shoulders also helps keep your center of gravity from shifting forward causing additional strain on you back. . Also, anyone else weird like me and listen to worship music during their workouts 🤷‍♀️? It makes me feel strong physically and mentally 🏋️‍♀️. . . . . . #iam #redeemed #worshipmusic #workoutmusic #amazinggrace #thirdtrimesterworkout #mommytobe #motherhood #babybump #30weekspregnant #workoutbuddy #itsagirl #thebump #babygirl #pelvicfloorexercises #fitpregnancyjourney #momitforward #thehappynow #joyfulmamas #inspiremothers #mytinytribe
