🥰 It was so lovely working with author, Cait West. Thank you for sharing these kind words. I’m completely honored. 🥰
This was such a delicious photo shoot. I’m still drooling over ’s tacos and churros. If you’re in GR, put Basalt on your short list. Check out their feature in the current issue of on newsstands now!
👏🌮😋
It was an honor photographing Brian Kelly. You’d probably recognize his fantastic celebrity portrait work that has stemmed from his role as the official photographer, but this article for features a recent personal project. Inspired during the shut down this Spring, Brian thoughtfully captured aerial photos of Grand Rapids using a drone - a truly stunning collection.
The proceeds from his new coffee table book “Aerial” benefit Mary Free Bed and Disability Advocates of Kent County. Proof that there is so much good happening this year amidst the challenges. Click over to and check out his work. ✨

I ❤️ GR and our amazing community. Photographed this little piece for GR Magazine this summer. Spread the good.
Speaking up - Grand Rapids Magazine Jocelyn Barnes grew to love Grand Rapids through open mic nights.
Farmers Market and U-pick seasons are in full swing, but did you know you can also grab a meal and eclectic seasonal craft brews while you pick cherries at farm? Did you know Michigan has the second most diverse agriculture in the country? From the vast variety of the century old to the young, hip, and organic , highlights these three unique family farms in the July issue out now. Go grab a copy!
Personally, I’m so grateful for ’s new REKO market concept - I never would have thought I’d be ordering from farms online and picking up nearly all of our weekly produce, eggs, and meat (and honey, syrup, cheese, and ice cream) from a variety of farms just a mile down the road. This shift to hyper local sources is so accessible.
In other news, shooting this piece a few weeks back was such a breath of fresh quarantined air. Can I just photograph farms all summer?
Sovengard and Host are rustic, authentic, farm to table experiences. The dining rooms will delight you with little hidden treasures, great local art, and interior design that is nothing short of art in itself. For now, treat yourself with carry out (a fresh eclectic menu along with locally sourced pantry boxes: eggs, butter, veggies, beer and wine. 🙌🏻) Eat well! Congrats again on winning ’s 2020 Restaurant of the Year award. 🏆 I know this time is not easy for anyone and my heart is so heavy.
Kingfisher is vibrant and fresh with a homegrown, local vibe. Brunch at its finest and a deli with plenty of colorful vegetarian and vegan plates. They are currently offering e-gift cards, online ordering and curbside pick up. Their sister restaurants .early.bird and are a couple of personal faves. 😍 Eat well, everyone and stay healthy! Best wishes to and congrats on the feature in ’s current issue - the 2020 Dining Guide!
Margaux is smooth blue velvet and river views, classy and low key. Chef Mikel is in the open kitchen innovating, spinning a modern twist on French cuisine. If you’re downtown GR, check out their current limited menu for carry out. Eat well, everyone. Photos taken for ’s March 2020 Dining Awards issue - Congrats to Margaux on the feature! 🏆
In the summer, Hancock has that bright green front lawn that draws you in. Yard games. It’s all leisure and Nashville hot chicken. Southern comfort food. Amazing sides. The jalapeño cornbread will be something you write home about. It’s not summer and it’s not a leisurely time, but you can still grab take out. Be well, everyone. I’ll keep posting local food photos shot recently for ’s current Dining Issue.
’ food is pure artistry. My heart is heavy for all of the small businesses and restaurants out there struggling during this surreal time. Support them. Buy gift cards to use later and order take out. Last I read, Terra is even feeding kids free, no questions asked. Photos taken for ’s current Dining Issue.
Hey GR! The 2020 Dining Issue is out - check it out for your weekend plans! This was such a fun & delicious assignment to shoot. Congrats to for winning Restaurant of the Year and all of the other stellar places featured. I’ll be sharing more photographs from the feature and some of my fave outtakes soon; stay tuned! ✨
