A huge thank you to Joy! Lutheran Church in Gurnee for hosting guest speaker Colby Martin who talked about his accliamed books, UnClobber, Rethinking Our Misuse of the Bible on Homosexuality, and SHIFT, A Survival Guide for Becoming a Progressive Christian.
Joy! Lutheran is a long-time supporter of us here having hosted our support groups meetings for more than two years prior to us having our own home. It was great to be back and continue that amazing partnership!
Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! We had an absolute blast! Food, friends, music and games! A special shout out to Highwood Pride and The Pinta Pride Project for their support in making this happen!

The Highland Park Players are getting ready for The Prom! Held at the McGrath Family Performing Arts Center, The Prom is a funny, smart, big-hearted musical about big Broadway stars, a small town, and a love that unites them all. Everyone is invited to The Prom!
"After a scathing review from the New York Times closes their latest show on opening night, a couple of brassy Broadway performers embark on a mission to change the world and in the process, rehabilitate their image. Their selected cause is a teenager from a small Indiana town whose prom was canceled by the P.T.A. due to her desire to attend with her girlfriend."

This morning at 11:30 a.m. St. Paul's will be dedicating a new Pride mural that was painted to cover over hate-crime (anti-LGBTQ) graffiti spray-painted at our entrance in June. We're calling the event, Stand for Love over Hate. The community support has been great from Waukegan Friends, the LGBTQ Center of Lake County and others and Deanna Cruz, owner of the Dandelion Gallery in Waukegan, who gathered a few artists to paint the mural.
