A 2016 study looked at the connection between music and anxiety by studying people who have a fear of heights.

Participants were put in a virtual reality simulation of riding up nine floors in an elevator. One group listened to music during the experiment, and the other didn’t.

The researchers found that those who listened to music recovered faster from the stress of the experience than those who didn’t.

Many studies suggest that listening to music can lower stress hormones as well as blood pressure and heart rate (both spike when you’re stressed).

This past weekend, we set up our very first booth at Kentuck Days up in Crandon, and what an incredible experience it was! From the early morning setup to the last-minute adjustments, every moment was filled with excitement and a bit of nervous energy.

As first-timers, there was definitely a learning curve! From figuring out the best way to display our items to managing transactions smoothly, we learned so much along the way. One of the biggest lessons? Preparation is key! Having a well-organized space and a clear plan made a huge difference. We also discovered the importance of engaging with customers and sharing the stories behind our brand. It was so rewarding to connect with people who appreciate the outdoors and playing outside as much as we do!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported our small business. Your encouragement means the world to us! We can't wait to take what we've learned and make our next booth even better. Research shows that spending more time outdoors can reduce the risk of developing nearsightedness, or myopia, in children.

The protective effect of outdoor time is related to the duration of exposure and light intensity.

A 2022 meta-analysis found that children who spend more than 22.5 hours per week outdoors have a significantly lower risk of developing myopia than those who spend less than 13 hours per week.

The analysis also found that increasing a child's outdoor time by about 76 minutes per day could reduce their risk of myopia by 50%.

National Sunglasses Day happens each year on June 27 as a day to inform people about the dangers of UV exposure.

Unlike for Diesel and Axel in the following pictures, wearing sunglasses is more than just a fashion statement. I would just like to be clear, getting those pictures was not an easy task...🙄🤣

Wearing sunglasses is also about protecting your eyes from harmful elements. So get out in the sun, wear your favorite shades, and protect those beautiful eyes of yours!!

I realize yesterday was Memorial Day BUT I wanted to do a fact post about it! I never knew this!!

Decoration Day gradually became known as Memorial Day and now honors all U.S. service members who have died during a military conflict.

Memorial Day continued to be observed on May 30th for many years.

Then, in 1968, Congress passed the Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1968. Since 1971, Memorial Day has been observed the last Monday of May.

On-Leash 2 Off-Road is thrilled to announce a milestone achievement with its very first donation from the sales of the K9 Club Product Line!

Over a span of just three months, the overwhelming support from customers has resulted in raising $150, which has been generously donated to the Crandon Police Department-K9 Fund. This fund plays a crucial role in supporting the needs and welfare of the police department's K9 unit, ensuring that these loyal and hardworking dogs receive the best care and resources.

Lieutenant Wilson, the current K9 handler at the Crandon Police Department, was present to graciously accept the donation. The donation will contribute to their working K9's training, medical care, and overall well-being, enabling them to continue their vital work in keeping the community safe.

On-Leash 2 Off-Road extends heartfelt gratitude to all customers who have supported the K9 Club Product Line. Every purchase not only brings quality products into the hands of supporters but also makes a tangible difference in the community.

WHAT ARE ADVENTURE COMPETITIONS?

Adventure Racing (also called Raids, Quests and Multisport depending on the region) are timed “multisport” races that include two or more sport disciplines.

⏳️ Events commonly last from several hours to a week in length.

👬👭👫 Most events require teams of 2 or more people, often coed (men and women racing together on the same team), and some include solo categories.

👟🚲🛶 The principal disciplines in adventure competitions include racing on foot, bike, boat.

🗺🧭 Races include orienteering AND may include marine navigation, climbing skills, parachuting, scuba diving, horse riding, skiing, sailing, white-water rafting, other skills and non-motorized means of transportation.

Although still new to the sport, they have become a favorite annual event!! Everyone is extremely welcoming to all of the beginners...especially the few times we have gotten so insanely lost in our first couple races. 😬

We have done a 3 hour race, two 8 hour races, and one 18 hour race!

Ready to tackle another 8 hour race this wknd!!!
