Early Praise for “Showing Teeth Part 1” by Romany M., Librarian at the Australian Council for Educational Research. “Libraries, language, travel, and romance… What’s not to love? Rather than a story of a mid-life crisis, this is a story of mid-life longing. Yes, it is a deeply sexy book, but there is a sense of intellectualism and seriousness about the characters. The protagonist has survived the coercive control of a partner and isn’t perfect, but she is knowledgable, worldly and deeply fascinating. Nothing about the writing infantilises the characters, instead, through reading this novel, we meet our equals, sharing our struggles in life, love and work. An exceptionally enjoyable book. “ . . #showingteethbook #holisticwellnessandexpression #modernauthor #newdegreepress #romance #memoir #steamyromance #interracialromance #Creativeexpression #earlypraise
Hello! Longtime since I did a video. Just got back from Brazil yesterday. Settling in but still half asleep. Had an amazing and heartfelt visit with my Brazilian host family and friends. Watch video for more detail! More photos and stories to come about my visit! . . #modernauthor #creatorinstitute #author #travel #curitiba #hostfamily #brazil
Book Update: We are in pre-sale mode and it’s one of the hardest phases of this book for me so far! I’m used to doing things on my own but it’s been a great lesson in realizing how interconnected we are! This publishing way seems a bit backwards for some but it’s a independent and modern author revolutionary way of getting published. By using crowdfunding, I’ll be able to get my book published. In other words, with your help I can become a published author. What have I put into this process? My time, energy, money, and dream. We’re at 40% of my goal and I have until the end of April to succeed! Thank you to all who have helped me so far by pre-ordering my book and sharing my posts! If you’d like to help, click the link in my bio. Thank you! . . #modernauthor #creatorinstitute #creativewriting #newdegreepress #author #romancewriters #memoir #writersofinstagram

Next Book Process Step: Countdown to Presale Campaign. Beginning March 31st I'll start my presale campaign and it runs for 5 to 6 weeks. It's reminding me of all the customer service jobs I've had! But as with massage therapy and all that I do now, my heart is definitely more into this book venture than any restaurant, drink, food item, and/or product I ever sold before!! More to come. Thanks for your support! . . #newdegreepress #CreativeInstitute #author #modernauthor #showingteethbook #customerservice #sales #bookbaby
The Wellness Librarian: Creative Writing Exercise
Creative Writing Exercise for "Flash Bulb Memories". Memories of where we were, what we were doing, and how we felt, etc during huge historical events. A camera flash and image of ourselves. Capture it in words as well.
Inauguration Day 2021. A big day, to say the least. I don't tend to share political views on my business page but it felt like a reprieve and a breath of fresh air. My thoughts today can be found on my blog post and I share this video in reference to my post.

In my other life, I teach creative writing but always tie in calming actions from yoga such as breathwork and meditation.
Yoga + Acupressure Sequence for Nourishing the Heart & Lungs during times of Stress & Grief:
Yoga + Acupressure Sequence for Nourishing the Heart & Lungs during times of Stress & Grief:
We usually connect the feeling of grief with the loss of a loved one. However, we can also feel grief when losing a normal routine, not being able to connect with others as we used to, and feeling grief for our world in general.
We’re human and I know we are all hopefully trying our best to stay safe. During this time, nourish yourself. Here’s a routine combining yoga and acupressure. Yoga stretches target opening the chest and lungs.
Acupressure points include:
CV17 - Sea of Tranquility - center of the breastbone, in the indention - helps with nervousness, emotional balance, depression, grief, sadness, anguish, emotional trauma, and calms the spirit.
Lu 1: Letting Go - underneath the collarbone where the chest and shoulder meet - supports healthy breathing, opens the spirit, anxiety relief, depression, grief, sadness, and anger.

Wellness Librarian: Acupressure for Self-Care
My next blog post will cover acupressure. I’ll tend to highlight what modality inspires me at the moment. I don’t utilize acupressure with every massage or yoga client but I love to bring it out when it seems right. It’s also a great self-care tool in times like these. More info in my blog post coming soon.
Here’s a routine to alleviate stress. I’m doing this routine sitting up but you can also lie down.
Grasp your shoulders: place both hands on each shoulder. Curve your fingers into the tops of the shoulder muscle close to the neck base (GB 21). Slowly apply pressure and hold for a minute.
Neck press: place your interlaced fingers behind your back, letting your head hang forward, elbows close together. Breathe, eyes closed for a minute.
Press GB 20 or the base of the skull. Place your thumbs on these two points, close your eyes, breathe deep, and relax.
Press St 6 which is on the jaw muscle. If you clench your teeth, you should feel the muscle bulge out. Hold this point, teeth slightly touching, and breathing for 1 minute.
Touch GV 24.5 & CV 17: place your right middle fingertip in between the indentation between your eyebrows where your forehead and bridge of the nose meet. Next, place the left hand fingertips in the indentation of your breastbone at heart level.
Not in video: relax under a blanket, breathing deep, and resting your mind.
