Justin Outling
Justin Outling - Candidate for GSO Mayor
The Mayor's announcement she is not going to run for re-election was a surprise to many, myself included. I commend her for her long service to the community and would like to express my best wishes for her future.
Although it is far too early to begin talking about the next Mayoral election, I will be discussing my own future plans with my wife, Cora, and other friends, advisors, and supporters. This is a time of great challenges and opportunities for Greensboro and, in that regard, I will continue my work on the boards of the Mustard Seed Clinic, United Way, and Gateway Research Park, as well as working with a community group (Turning Everything Around) in East Greensboro to tackle the issue of persistent unemployment there.
Greensboro is our family's home. We love it here and I intend to stay active in it and work with people who share my vision for a prosperous and safe city.
Finally, let me say I am gratified to hear from so many friends and supporters in the wake of the Mayor's announcement. You were the energy that drove my campaign for Mayor, and your continued interest is a sign of your long standing commitment to improve life for all of Greensboro.
My thanks to you all.
Justin
Perhaps the best thing about my campaign for Mayor was getting to meet and work with so many bright and hard working people who love NC. At the top of the list of persons was Conen Morgan, who served as our sage political consultant and became a friend.
I was deeply saddened to learn this morning of Conen’s passing. NC has lost one of the best among us.
With a sad heart, I express my condolences to Conen’s family.
For all the volunteers who worked on our campaign for Mayor and came to know Conen so well, please don’t hesitate to let me know if there’s anything we can do to support you in this time of morning. I will share information regarding his funeral service as soon as I receive it.

Last week was eventful, but certainly one of the highlights was being the keynote speaker of the Triad Liberian Association’s 175th Liberian Independence Day Anniversary. Liberia, declared independence on July 26, 1847. On January 3, 1848, Joseph Jenkins Roberts, a free-born African American from Virginia was elected Liberia's first president. The Association had a wonderful event, and Cora even somehow got me to dance. Lots of fun.

Dear Friends . . .
I have an update on the Mayoral results for Greensboro. I cannot thank each and every one of you enough for the support, well wishes, and assistance these past few years. Even though I was not elected, I look forward to continuing to help make Greensboro better and supporting you in the future.
Thank you for all your support! I wanted to update you on where we are in this election process. . . .
There is an unknown amount of absentee votes and mail in votes from service members (I am working to understand how many). I believe in counting every vote and we are waiting for those votes to be counted. If it pulls the margin within 1% (and we are now at 1.3%) then there could be a recount before results can be certified.
Thank you for hanging with us the votes are counted!
(Maybe it’s the lawyer on me but I have to wait until the final verdict to call the case closed.)
Out all day greeting people at the polls across Greensboro!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support and everyone who voted in todays elections.
Today is it! Happy Election Day from the polls!

I was so happy to have my family join me as I cast my vote. I’m lucky to have such a supportive rockstar wife and two great kids who have joined in on canvassing and other campaign events. (Mostly willingly 😂) They are the reason I want to help get Greensboro back on track.
If you haven’t already I hope you’ll cast your vote for me on July 26.
Honored to be endorsed by so many great organizations!
Let’s change Greensboro for the better!

YIKES! This is startling. Crime has risen at a dramatic pace since Nancy Vaughan took office. (SOURCE: The violent crime rates per 100k people from FBI Uniform Crime Reports. FBI collects based on metro areas (Greensboro & High Point together)
Greensboro needs to make sure ALL of its residents are safe. As mayor I will work to make sure we address the root causes of crime (the need for housing, jobs, transportation) and work with the police to ensure faster response times, transparency, and a modern trust-based approach.
It’s time for change. Vote July 26. Early voting through July 23.
REMINDER: It takes you to make the change!
Get to the polls for the last two days of early voting and help get Greensboro back on track. Vote for Justin Outling for Mayor.

One of the most concerning responses during the WGHP TV debate between the Mayor and myself was her response to crime rates in Greensboro.
All of Greensboro residents have the right to have safety and quality of life. More investment in high crime areas would bring that equity to the city.
I hope to continue to earn your votes for the e general election this July 26.
