Well, she did it again!

Congratulation Dr. Ackerman for being awarded “Employer of the Year” for the State of Pennsylvania by the Federation of Business and Professional Women.

Dr. Ackerman received her award this past weekend in Harrisburg.

We could not be more proud of this huge accomplishment.

MVVC will be closing at 4 pm on Good Friday, March 29th.
We will re-open on Monday April 1st at 8 am.
Please plan accordingly for medication pick up or anything else you may need.

Mountain View Veterinary Care is excited to announce that Dr. Melissa Ackerman has been awarded the 2023/2024 Employer of Year by the Latrobe Chapter of Business & Professional Women and was presented her award on Thursday, March 21, 2024.

Dr. Ackerman has worked very hard to develop MVVC into the high-quality practice that it is today. She loves working with her clients by providing exemplary medical care, information, and education so they can make the best choices for their pets.

We couldn’t be prouder of Dr. Ackerman for this achievement.

We could not be more excited to welcome Dr. Mary Criado to Mountain View Veterinary Care! She will be joining our practice in June.

Dr. Criado was born and raised in Murrysville, PA. She completed her undergrad degree from Duquesne University and graduated from Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. After living and practicing in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida, Dr. Criado has made her way back to her hometown. While Dr. Criado loves working with dogs and cats, she also loves to see pocket pets and some exotics. Her special interests include surgery, ultrasound and physical rehabilitation. She has a special place in her heart for Labrador Retrievers and any mixed breed! When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her two cats (Crusty and Cora) and her two dogs (MoJo and Irene).

We are incredibly proud to share that our own Isabella Ervin has passed her national board exam and is now licensed as a CVT (Certified Veterinary Technician). We thank her for her hard work and dedication to the field of veterinary medicine and to Mountain View Veterinary Care !

We have had the great pleasure of having senior veterinary student Chelsea Wilson spend a few weeks with us for an externship. I also appreciate the puppy socialization she is helping with!

Some have been with me from the beginning. Some have been with me since before the beginning. Some I have had the pleasure of getting to know more recently. But every single one of them supports me and help me be the best vet I can be. And every single one of them helps with every single aspect of Mountain View Veterinary care to keep it running smoothly and efficiently. They are friendly, kind, and do their best every day. They know how to make a hard job fun. And I will be forever grateful to all of them.

We wanted to remind our clients that Saturday starts a 3 day holiday weekend, so please make sure you have all medications needed prior to this weekend. We are open Friday until 5, but may need 1 day to fill prescriptions. Happy Memorial Day to all and we encourage you to take a moment to remember our fallen heroes.

We wanted to give a HUGE shout-out to our amazing practice manager, Deb Bacha. Last month Deb joined an elite group of less than 900 people in the entire United States. She achieved the highest level of accreditation possible for veterinary practice managers and is now officially a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager. Deb has worked tirelessly by my side to help develop MVVC into the high quality practice that it is, and she has held herself to that same high standard by putting in thousands of hours to achieve her certification. I tell her all the time, but will also tell the world: I could not do this without her! Congratulations Deb for a MUCH DESERVED title, but you always have been this caliber in my book!

These right here are the pictures of true dedication: The MVVC team gives 100% and I can always count on their support and skills to get us through! In the face of medical complications these guys got this patient to exactly where she needed to be. And it took the entire village to get her to this point. I cannot say enough about what every single team member means to this hospital!

EIGHT Chow Chow puppies born via c section today- this was a frozen semen breeding done from a male collected 18 years ago- congratulations to her owners and the stud dog owner too!!
