Hello Second Chance friends! Below is a text message that one of our Second Chance Grant recipients, Taylor wrote me today that I thought I'd share 💙 I am overjoyed that we could lessen this families financial burdens during this troubling time. For background information sake, Second Chance sponsors couples for 6 months at a time to pay off adoption fees and expenses. The Smith family (whom this text is from) has paid their adoption off during that time period, so for the remainder of their Grant period, a portion of each job I do gets sent directly to them for baby Selah's daily needs! Thank you so much for continuing to support our Grant families by putting us to work on your kitchens and furniture pieces!

These heirloom pieces have been in my customers family for almost 100 years! I was honored to refinish them for her, and now they can be around another 100! ♥️

We chose Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray for the bodies and I refinished the tops with a Kona stain. They are STUNNING! Swipe for befores 😃

As I was sanding down these table legs I was thinking (sanding details like these gives you ALOT of time to think 😜)about how extremely blessed I am to be able to help support my family, as well as have a ministry, by doing something that I love. Another Second Chance kitchen complete! I very much enjoyed spending time at the Aragona families home the last couple weeks. I helped get this job knocked off the "honey do list" in preparation for their big gender reveal for their little one that will be making an appearance in the upcoming months. 🍼👶

We chose "Extra white" by Sherwin Williams to brighten up the kitchen, create the look of more space, and match the color of the trim.

I have a couple small businesses that have reached out to me and want to help with adoption costs along side me, and I'm SO grateful! 🙌🙏

One of those companies is Comfort Cleaning of Greenville. I'm telling you, your house will never be cleaner. She truly has a passion for cleaning, and everytime I have recommended her out, the person that she has cleaned for has come back to me and told me what an excellent job she has done. She is currently doing a promotion for all Second Chance customers and giving a discount on your first deep clean, as well as giving a portion of her profit to our Grant recipients. One of the best parts about the Second Chance adoption support grant is getting to pray for and love on the children that my grant couples adopt! Yesterday, my little boy Roman and I got to catch up with adoptive Mama Taylor, and love on baby Selah for a bit 💙

The cabinets were painted in a Sherwin Williams color called Shell white. I brought in my brother Travis to pull out the existing island and after my client designed her dream island, he installed it for her and her new light fixtures. My client is over the moon with how it turned out, as am I!

I'm also so happy to say we were able to chip away at hundreds of dollars of adoption fees for the Smith and Remick families because of this job. 🙌

We just loved getting to visit with the Remick Family yesterday and bring some Christmas cheer! 🎄 Little Finn is the most precious, happy, baby boy! I couldn't get enough of his smiles and snuggles 💙

When a customer wants a smooth finish for their cabinets we spray them for that perfect, brush free, beautiful, cabinet door. My current kitchen customer wants a smooth, satin finish so today I worked at my clients home painting the faceframes as Travis sprayed doors at his shop.

It turned out to be the perfect day for Travis to be near home as our whole family is on pins and needles waiting for the appearance of Travis's second child, whom we hope to be here in a matter of hours! Boy or girl, what will they be?! You guys have any guesses? I'm an excited Aunt! 😁💗 💙

It is SO nice to have someone you trust as far as workmanship and skill to help you out on big kitchen jobs! For me, my go-to guy's happen to be my brothers, Travis and Todd, who both own their own small businesses doing various construction and home work.

Today Travis (with New Creation Kitchen and Bath) is helping me sand and prime faceframes of a kitchen I am working on. We're working hard, playing some good tunes 🎶, and getting er' done over here! 💪 When Travis works on a Second Chance job, he contributes a portion of his profit to the Grant funding for our couples adoptions, and I am so grateful for his heart to want to help! 💙

I don't know about you, but this season has been super busy! I have been refinishing things for clients to give as gifts, and working on two back to back kitchen jobs. I'm looking forward to having many happy clients and gift recipients come Christmas Day! 🎄For now, I am in the shop sanding cabinet doors singing Hakuna Matata, while I sport the T-shirt (one of my faves 😄🎶)

The burden of supporting children's adoptions costs has been placed on my heart and 10% of my profit goes towards this effort. If any of my customers come directly to me because of the relationship they have to The Smith or Remicks families (who are my current Grant couples), 50% of my profit from that job would go towards their adoption costs. I stenciled and handpainted the floor. My client and her designer chose Benjamin Moore's "Black Beauty" as the cabinet color, and we replaced the bronze hardware with gold. I'm in love with how this turned out! 💙

Hi Everyone! I would like to introduce to you my brother, Todd Hedlund with Hedlund Construction, LLC . Below is a picture of us working together, sanding a kitchen he came to help me with the other day. This guy right here is one of the most talented, hard working, men I have EVER met. He can build a house from the ground up, (his home is amazing 😍) is fantastic at everything construction wise, but specializes in industrial and residential concrete, which he has been doing for the last 15+years and is licensed and insured.

With my ultimate goal, via Second Chance Furniture, being to sponsor the full cost of children's adoptions (which can be upwards of 30k), I have been praying for folks with different specialities to join with me and commit a portion of their earnings to my Second Chance Grant recipients. I am SO happy to announce that Todd has caught the vision and has asked me if he could help out! 🙌 Anyone that he does a job for that mentions Second Chance as a means of referral to him, he pledges to commit 5% of his total job costs to the grant/adoptions costs. I am so thankful for his generosity and heart!

Almost finished with the bathroom transformation I have been working on this week! Here is a little sneak peek of what's to come 😍

Can you believe the cost of adopting a child in need these days?! It's crazy expensive and I really had no idea just how expensive it was until this burden was laid on my heart to help recently. Every job I do chips away at the Smith's and the Remicks adoption fees. Put me to work and help me help them! 💙

FINALLY they are able to share baby Jonah Phoenix Remick, "Finn", as they call him, with the world, as his adoption is now FINALIZED!

Cabinet painting may seem easy to some, but there is actually alot involved (time and supplies wise) in order to have a beautiful finish that weathers the test of time. These cabinets I just finished today had been painted not even 10 months previously, but had a ton of scuffs and scratches and chips already. Such a bummer! 😔

Please, save your time, effort, and supply money from the first go around, and let me paint your cabinets to last! They will stay chip free, for years to come the first time, and I am super reasonable!
