I live in Greenville, SC, which is about an hour from Clemson University. In case you aren’t from the South or don’t follow college sports, Clemson takes football season very seriously!!! 🐅 Clemson students go back this week and the football frenzy will ensue soon. 🧡🤍💜 I’ve been commissioned by several Clemson fans to make some Clemson earrings (orange/white/purple). The challenge is finding orange or purple vintage tins - orange in the vintage tin world isn’t common, but purple is rarely found! However, that’s not going to stop me from trying. I’m up for the challenge!
Pictured are a collection of orange tins…still looking for purple, so in the meantime orange/white it is. Go Tigers!!!

Who remembers these colored aluminum cups? 🙋♀️
I do. We used to have a set we used when camping when I was a young kid💚 My early years we camped in a tent, then a pop up camper & then a small pull behind the car (yes, I said car) camper. Once I was in middle school, we started renting a house at the beach instead of camping! Whew 😥 I loved camping in the mountains, & Chris & I still do, but camping at the beach w/no a/c, the heat & the bugs was the pits!
I have lots of fond memories camping with my family. These cups bring back some of those memories, so when I saw them at an antique shop in I had to get them to see if I could make jewelry with them.

As a child, I used to love to go to our Lutheran camp, Lutheridge (up near Asheville, NC). Most of the time, it was the highlight of my summer. I loved worshiping Christ surrounded by the beauty of the mountains, meeting new friends, all of the music including meals in the dinning hall where we sang our blessings, but I especially loved the “arts and crafts.” That’s where I first learned to make jewelry.
Lutheridge is a very special place and I have lots of fond memories. But, my favorite summers were the ones I was able to celebrate Christmas in July, the most coveted week of camp. That week was always the first week to fill up and always had the longest waitlist. But if you were lucky enough to get to go that week, you were lucky enough! It was the pinnacle of the church camp weeks! We sang Christmas songs, made Christmas crafts and celebrated Jesus’s birth. Such incredibly fond memories.💚 So, needless to say, I still love celebrating Christmas in July!

Y’all, look at these beauties!!! 😍 these are the tins I brought back from our vacation!!! I got them in Port Townsend at an antique mall the last day of our trip. You should’ve seen me trying to fit them in my luggage to come home 😆 I ended up having to break the blue and white circular one down so it was flat and I could put it in the bottom of the suitcase. The box I packed some of my toiletries and socks in. A girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do! 🤷♀️ Am I right? 😂

I got the sweetest message from a new customer this weekend. It made my heart smile!
“Just bought my first pair of your beautiful earrings and I’m in love!!! Thank you for creating such beauty.”
- Emma
I requested and she sent me some pictures of hear wearing the earrings. Isn’t she lovely?

Day 6: Langley, Whidbey Island, WA
I loved Langley! It’s a precious artisan town on the water. Such a fun place to visit, shop and play! It was my favorite town on Whidbey.

Day 5: Whidbey/Spoiled Dog Winery
We did a little slower paced day and enjoyed sipping on some wine. We came across this beautiful winery, Spoiled Dog Winery. We did a little wine tasting (white flight), walking around the vineyards and shopping. When we told the others where we were and the name of the winery, they said “oh, they named the winery after Barley?” (If you’d followed me even a little bit, you know how much we love - and maybe spoil - our Aussiedoodle, Barley. After having cancer multiple times and many surgeries, I wasn’t able to have children. Up until I was 47, I’d never had a dog. Insert Barley. He literally changed my life, so, yes, he’s very spoiled. And that’s ok. I told the owners that story and coincidentally, the story of how the winery got its name is a very similar story! It made our visit all the more special!

Day 3: Exploring Whidbey Island/hiking/Deception Pass
The day started with a walk on the beach and a stunning sunrise. The hike was magnificent, too, with trees too tall to get in a photograph without a wide angle lens and forests floor lined with ferns - it looked like a scene out of a magically fairytale. Then, some of us (not to include those who hate heights) walked across the bridge at Deception Pass. I’ve never seen water that color - tealish emerald green. It was gorgeous! But, not for the faint of heart because the bridge is 180’ above the water. Breathtaking! 💚💚💚

Currently…in transit to the Pacific Northwest (San Juan Islands, specifically Whidbey)! So thankful and blessed. This was our Christmas present from my in-laws. A dear friend is taking caring of our house for the week and my family has Barley for the week. Leaving him for this week was the toughest part, but looking forward to exploring, hiking, biking and whale watching!!! 💚 I’m sure I’ll be sharing lots of pictures as long as we have cell service (I know some areas we won’t).
Anyone live, have lived or visited the area and want to comment or DM me with “must see/must dos” please! 💚
Whale watching is on my bucket list. What’s on yours?

The coloring on this vintage tin is unusual. I’ve never seen it in these blues and greens - so once they are sold, they are gone.
