Mark's Custom Woodcraft
Custom woodworking of all types!
I love to see people who are happy with the finished product. This solid maple table with turned pedestal base looks great in this breakfast nook! Thanks, Ken and Suzanne, for the opportunity to make this piece for you.
Custom made planter to your specs! Solid weather resistant cypress, gets you off your knees when you’re planting those vegetables!!
Mark has been very busy in the workshop for the past several weeks. 😊We’ll be sharing some photos of his latest projects over the next week or two.
Check out this entertainment center with barn door accents. Don’t you think the owner did a fabulous job with the decor? We do! The whole look is just beautiful! We are thrilled that the owner is very happy with her custom piece.
Lovely beverage cart would be a great addition to any home. Solid mahogany. Dimensions: 38W 41H 12D. Message us if interested!
I (Karen) have wanted a pie safe for quite a while but never had the space for one in my kitchen. Decided to ask Mark to build a shorter version of a typical pie safe to fit in our breakfast area. I. Just. Love. It! Let us know what you think. He can customize to fit your space and taste.
Two special Christmas presents were ordered and we couldn’t post them earlier but wanted to share them now. The first one is a porch swing (Annie approved!) for a very sweet lady. The second is a bowl Mark turned out of walnut from a tree taken from the lot adjacent to the chapel at First Baptist Church Spartanburg.
One of Mark's favorite pastimes is spending time on the lathe. He was introduced to woodturning by his brother, Ted, who has created some truly exquisite pieces. Mark turned these two bowls recently, both from local wood.
Sorry, friends, that it has been so long since we have posted on our page. Life has been crazy for us recently, as we're sure it has been for many of you too! Mark has been busy in the shop on projects both big and small...more to come about those over the course of the next few days. Today, we'd like to share about probably the most special project Mark has ever completed. Many of you may know that his mom recently passed away. What you may not know is that he had the opportunity to build one last gift for his mom...one made truly out of love and one that she will have forever. He also had two previous opportunities to build such beautiful honored pieces- one for my brother, Bob Cromer, and one for my uncle, Bill Cromer. Mom Huminski's features an eagle representing her Polish heritage. Bob served as a pilot in the US Air Force so his bears the USAF insignia; he is buried in Arlington. Uncle Bill's has the SC National Guard insignia. Mark is thankful that he has had the opportunity to build such special pieces for people that we love.
Mark enjoyed this particular project...creating a quilt rack from parts of a crib. What a wonderful way to turn a special piece of furniture into a family heirloom!
One of my favorite pieces is the table Mark made for our breakfast area. Of course, there is a story! When we moved into our new house three years ago, I wanted a new table with chairs to match. The dilemma - Mark was willing to make the table but not the chairs (too time consuming...he was still finishing the house and working full-time. I guess that was a good reason!). He finally agreed to let me purchase the whole set at a furniture store...this was a BIG deal. I never purchased any furniture made of wood. So, we began looking and finally found a store that had "potential ". The salesman was eager to help us until I told him that I wanted the top of one table, the base of another, and the chairs from a third set. Mark just shook his head as the salesman said, "Mam, that's not how it usually works!" In the end, we were actually able to purchase a base and chairs separately and Mark made the rest. He customized the perfect table for me and can for you too!
Mark made this wooden horse for our son, Daniel, over 30 years ago. It’s still providing hours of enjoyment by our youngest grandson. Perfect Christmas gift! (Cute grandson not included! 🤣)
Did you know Magic 98.9 had Christmas Music playing last weekend?!
The holiday season is quickly approaching! 🎄
Now is the perfect time to order a Nativity set. Even Percy from Thomas the Tank Engine had to come check it out! 🚂
*disclaimer- people (and Percy) sold separately
Need an easy place to lay out your puzzle pieces? Here ya go!
My wife took this picture mainly to show the mantle that I made for the fireplace, but then we realized that I also made the frame for the picture hanging above the mantle, as well as the goblet, the vase, and the two candlesticks.
The grandsons spent a good part of the day playing with one of last year's Christmas gifts that I made for them in the shop...a barn made of poplar with a roof that can be lifted. This makes it easier to access the animals. Plus, the younger grandson thinks it's pretty cool to lift and lower the roof-over and over and over and over!
Starting them young 🛠
Happy Labor Day!
Need custom wood working done for all types of projects (cabinets, entertainment centers, bowls, stools, beds, picture frames, craft tables, and more)? You have come to the right page.
This isn't particle board, laminate that looks like wood, or another wood wannabe that you get from Ikea in hopes that it lasts a year. These are high quality, custom, authentic wood items that are made to your specifications and built to last. From pine to maple, from mahogany to pecan, and cypress to birch, Mark's Custom Woodcraft is making local products that are built to last. To last through all you can throw at it or all that you throw it at.
Have problems with your "wood" items currently breaking? Drop a "wood stool" and it breaks into 104 pieces with the "Made in China" sticker being the only part that sicks together? Not with Mark's Custom Woodcraft. Drop one of my stools on your kitchen tile? It may be time for new flooring. Drop an authentic wood picture frame on your foot? Great news, your frame is still in tact.....but your toe may not be. Have trouble with your bookshelf caving in or collapsing because there is too much weight on it, yet you only have 3 Harry Potter books on it? Not anymore. One of mine with two shelves won't have the same problem. Could it also be used as the stand you put your car on to change the tire next time you get a flat? Maybe not but you get the drift.
I look forward to working with you all and building custom pieces to be fashionable and long term solutions in your house, garage, or wherever you need. Contact me at [email protected] to get started on your next piece of authentic wood decor!
