Alberta Pottery is the ceramics studio of Erin and Jason Hall. We work in stoneware and porcelain and fire in a gas reduction kiln to cone 10.
Alberta Pottery is the studio of Jason and Erin Hall, who create studio pottery and sculptural ceramics.
The first little pot towards our fall kiln was made today!
We are so excited to share these new pots with you! Overall good firing with nice reduction throughout. Here are photos of front and back stacks, and close ups. We are looking at Saturday for our first Pop Up with the new work. Please message us with questions or if you see something you’d like us to hold for local pickup or ship your way!
Here’s the front and back stacks of the kiln and the cone packs top and bottom. We fired a little cooler this time with cone 9 down and cone 10 just starting to bend. (Guard cone 11 is a self-supporting cone standing in back facing the opposite direction.) The top was a little ahead of the bottom, which is unusual for our kiln. It looks like a good firing from what we can see! Be sure to catch The Big Reveal when we unload tomorrow morning!
The final bisque is unloaded, glazes are mixed, and work has been prepped for glazing! Let the fun begin!
Final bisque is loaded and firing! We begin glazing this week for our late summer kiln!
We always love seeing our ! Thanks for sharing your beautiful sunflowers in your new vase!
Happy Birthday to us!! Ten years ago we took a leap of faith and quit our jobs to start Alberta Pottery and we haven’t looked back! Has it always been easy? No. But it has absolutely been worth it to wake up each day and do what we love, and find folks who like our work enough to support us, and come back to tell us how much joy it brings them! We wouldn’t want to be doing anything else! We have so much to be thankful for and have had incredible support from our families, friends and collectors. Thank you so much. We are truly grateful to be on this adventure with you! Can’t wait to see what the next ten years bring!
A bit of sketching in the booth today…
New work just dropped at Grand Bohemian Gallery today! Be sure to check it out next time you’re downtown Greenville! .gbmb
