These cuties frequent the jewelry department with mom and dad. They have heard the steamer go off from my shop. A sales associate has convinced the girls that it's a dragon that lives in the back room. So, I had Jeweler Dragon shirts made for the girls and I bought them jewelry making kits. They showed up today! Received their gifts and were over the moon. Unfortunately, I had already left for the day. The girls have not met The Jeweler Dragon yet, so the story continues.

To keep the emerald theme this month, here is another outstanding, gorgeous emerald that I set last week! I altered the mounting to accommodate the customers huge stone, then put a new head and set her stone. So nerve racking but I did it, customer loved and it looked amazing! (Ignore my ugly fingers)

When a gold miner brings in a bowl of gold nuggets and they ask for the bracelet to be filled with no gaps and make 2 pendants out of the larger nuggets, its playing with gold day. Turned out amazing if I do say so myself.

Attention fix-it type peeps. Please do not fix your jewelry with lead solder! I cannot heat that to repair it properly due to the toxic fumes I choose not to inhale. All of this home repair job must be removed and replaced. Much more expensive than just letting the pro repair it in the first place. Your public service announcement for today.

Made 2 solid links for this bracelet to make it larger. The original links are hollow but I do not have the right equipment to duplicate those, so solid was the next best thing.

Ethiopian opal, gorgeous stone. I've worked on hundreds of pieces of jewelry with this stone and never had I ever have one do what this stone did. To size the ring and protect the stone, I place it in water upside down so the stone does not get hot. The opal quickly started to change before my eyes, the opal absorbed the water, clouded over, dried out and looked as good as new! I've never seen an opal do that before, wigged me out until I read about it. I guess its fairly common, crazy! Always learning.....

Did something a little different today. Relearning how to cut a cabochon which I have not done since I was about 12 years old. Used to cut stones with my dad all the time.

This is Ms. Kitty Bling that I made from a kitty pendant that was pot metal but the client Loved It! So had a mold made and set customers stones into the new and improved white gold Kitty Bling. Teal blue diamond eyes but picture doesn't really reflect that.

Ring getting some new tips. Would not want to lose any stones. Tips or new heads are usually much less than replacing diamonds!

Pulled the diamonds out of one line of the band and replaced with natural pink sapphires. Retipped her engagement ring and soldered the 2 together. We'll find out tomorrow at our Diamond Restyling Event at Sandy Freddies if the customer loves it💗💎💍
