Alex Corado has been putting in the work at the gym! He’s crushed his 3 month pro agility goal (⬇️ 0.3 seconds) and his vertical jump goal (⬆️ 2.5 inches). Alex is known in the gym for asking how other people are doing—he’s a very considerate and thoughtful person. Alex is also a great soccer player. Alex, thanks for your positivity and work ethic, you are the man!
Why do we weight push-ups?
✅ Core strength (when weighted at the low back as pictured)
✅ Build confidence (hard things do this… weighted push-ups are hard!)
✅ Upper body pressing strength (we want to become better pressers—not just with a barbell

Stormie was a beast on the mound this morning! Striking girls out left and right and leading her team to the win. Stormie has a great work ethic in the gym and it was fun to watch her compete on the mound. So proud of this girl—the athlete and person she is becoming every day!
Ryker Norman has been training with us for a year now. His results speak for themselves—Ryker is a consistent machine in the gym!

Leah has been relentless in her training this spring. She always finds a way to leave the gym at least 1% better than the day before. Leah is someone you can count on to give her best effort regardless of the circumstances. Leah also serves as a friendly face to a lot of our younger athletes—they are in awe of how “jacked” she is!😂

The State track meet was very well supported today!! What an awesome event to support so many of Iowa’s talented athletes. Today, we are especially proud of & for hitting season & lifetime PRs on the track! & both hit 5’11 on the high jump. We are excited to see more results & PRs come throughout the rest of state.
Whit has been crushing his training since October. Whit loves a challenge—whether it’s tire flips, heavy farmers carries, or a max set of push-ups—Whit is always in attack mode! Whit’s 10 yard dash is down over 0.3 seconds since starting. Whit always comes to the gym with a great attitude and work ethic!

Uli is a champ! He comes to 3 speed plus sessions per week and is uber committed to the details. As a result of his great efforts, he has seen a ton of growth in his sprinting mechanics. Uli is just 8 years old, but always competes to the best of his ability regardless of who he is competing against. We are so proud of Uli the person and the athlete he is becoming!
Chase Lamb is a guy you want on your team. Next season he will be suiting up at linebacker for the Drake Bulldogs. In preparation for a huge freshman season Lamb has committed to training 5 days per week—without fail. His growth since November is astonishing:

Big shoutout to Cooper and Coen! Cooper always finds his way to the gym despite his busy schedule. Cooper seeks out ways to uplift others—last week he went out of his way to challenge a new athlete to compete with him on sled push weight. Cooper embodies everything we are about at ETS!
Coen is on our Speed Plus program and has made tremendous growth with controlling his body in different positions. He’s one hilarious kid that our coaches and athletes can’t get enough of!

Grayson has really grown with us since last June. Grayson started in our Speed Plus program and earned the transition to Elite Speed and ultimately adding in Strength to his weekly training. Grayson has dominated his training at every stage! Grayson has incredible control of his body and is a very impressive athlete. Since starting 10 months ago, Grayson has increased his vertical 5.5”. We are proud of the athlete & person Grayson is on a daily basis!

ETS X 42 STRONG
ETS will be hosting the second-annual 42 Day in honor of Tate Myre on April 2, 2024. On this day we will be hosting 42 minute workouts with a goal to create a greater sense of community and purpose among athletes across all ETS locations.
42 Strong was born out of the tragic events at Oxford High School, where Tate Myre, along with three others, lost their lives. In honor of Tate’s spirit and values, 42 Strong fosters purpose, resilience, and community through peer-to-peer mentorship.
At ETS, we’re proud to be part of the 42 Strong x ETS initiative, upholding Tate’s values of caring, hard work, and positivity. On April 2nd, join us in commemorating Tate’s legacy and building a sense of community with 42-minute workouts at our ETS Facility.
Current ETS athletes can bring a friend along and experience camaraderie as all athletes follow the same “42 Day” workout.
Our call to action:
1️⃣ Choose a “Tate Trait” to focus on.
2️⃣ Post a video on social media featuring your trait.
3️⃣ Implement this trait into your life for the betterment of yourself and your community.

Our newest member of the staff, Levi Hummel, is a Dowling Catholic and Iowa State graduate. Levi played football in the Big XII and studied exercise science. Levi had the opportunity to learn from some of the best high school and college strength coaches and has a passion for developing young people into better versions of themselves. As most of our athletes can already attest, Levi is passionate about the gym and helping kids take steps towards their goals. When Levi isn’t at the gym, he enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, and watching sports. We are thrilled to have Levi join the ETS FAM!
Decker is the man! Decker continued to train through an injury & just got his boot off this week. He is in attack mode to get ready for the soccer season & always brings his best effort to the gym regardless of the circumstances. Decker is always smiling — even after tough exercises he always has a funny comment to make.
Decker, you have made so much growth in the past few months, we can’t wait to watch you continue to grow as a person and athlete.
Who should supplement with Creatine?

Along with increasing Strength & Power output, creatine helps aid in recovery, reduces inflammation, and also helps with cognitive function. Creatine also plays a key role in ATP production, and helps increase work capacity.
Is Creatine safe?
Yes, Creatine is one of the most widely studied supplements on the planet. It is safe, beneficial, and effective for young athletes all the way up to the elderly population‼️
HOW MUCH PROTEIN DO YOU NEED?
✔️From a performance & body composition standpoint, Protein is the most important macro nutrient.
✔️Athletes should lean towards .8 to 1 gram of protein per LB of bodyweight to support lean body mass.
✔️Lack of protein will put the muscles in a catabolic state where they break down instead of grow.
ETS MACRO TRACKING CHALLENGE
1) Download any nutrition app like MyFitnessPal, Lose it, or Fooducate.
2) Track your intake for 3 consecutive days
3) Take a snap shot of your daily totals for each of those 3 days, and email to [email protected]

It was great to get out and support this past weekend. They went 2-0 on the weekend, securing some huge home wins! This team is full of great people and athletes. We are excited to help continue to put them in the best position possible each week the rest of the season as they make their push for the playoffs.

Kinley Kline has earned this recognition! Kinley is always the first person to hype up her friends in the gym. Whether it’s 6 sets of sled push or push-ups, Kinley always gives her best effort. Her effort and consistency have led to a 4” increase in her vertical jump since starting in October!
Kinley is an awesome athlete. Most importantly, friends, teammates, and coaches would tell you that Kinley is the kind of person you want on your team—no matter the circumstances—because of her positivity, relentless effort, and her ability to make hard things fun!

Dylon COMMITed to training back in October. Since then, he has OVERCOME every piece of adversity that has come his way. Dylon loves to compete, listen to Hardy Radio, and watch the Buckeyes play football. Dylon’s improvements since starting are so good it almost seems fake— but just ask him—he will be the first to tell you how much growth he has made in the past 5 months.

Madison is all smiles all the time (even on the court)! Madison had some great serves this weekend and her team competed hard all 3 games.
It’s been awesome to watch Madison grow as one of our Speed Plus athletes and she continues to get better every time she comes into the gym.
Madison is FAST. At 12 years old, she has dropped her 10 yard dash from 2.03 seconds to 1.84 seconds in less than a school year! Madison can also jump out of the gym, recently taking her approach vertical jump to 20”!
In addition to being a great athlete, Madison is a great presence in the gym. She’s seemingly always smiling. We are so grateful to train you Madison, keep crushing it 💪
