Trees of hope 01/04/2024

In December, we planted two trees of hope where the horse barn stood before March 2023's wildfire. Since we don't have horses anymore, we decided to plant two maple trees in this spot where we can see them from inside the house and outside too. There are so many things made with meat products, and there is no label requirement to inform people that the gelatin or glycerin is from mammals....

Fish tacos with dairy free sauce (cashew sour cream) and nondairy cheese. It all tastes great so I’m feeling like I can make this meat allergy work even gluten free. So many more dairy free options out there now that taste good.

These are the plants I love in the garden at the beginning of October. The weather is still hot, but changes are coming this week. Thank goodness. New plants I love in the garden now. I've been so impressed by all the volunteers in the Oklahoma Native Plant Network in getting this off the ground. Logo, tags, banking, handouts, website, social media, etc, a boatload of tasks have been accomplished in a short amount of time. And a shout out to the Oklahoma Native Plant Society for serving as a sponsor. Our first NATIVE plant festival will be on Saturday, September 30 in OKC and we'll have lots of vendors, speakers, and stuff for kids. Onpn.org
