Haddon Heights Fall Baseball

Fall Baseball is offered for Haddon Heights players across 4 age groups and is a wonderful way to allow players to continue to stay connected to baseball during the fall sport season. HHYA Fall Teams play games against Haddon Township and Barrington following a set schedule each week. The season runs from Labor Day weekend through the end of October. HHYA is offering Fall Baseball for Rookies, Minors, Major, & Teen players. We will continue to implement the same health and safety guidelines that we have used during the summer season.


Here are the key details:

Registration will be open from 07/22/2024 -08/14/2024 only. Once closed, we can't allow any additional registrations.
When Registering for Fall, Parents are not required to complete the proof of Residency section, use HHYA site to login and begin registration
Families can access or create a registration account via HHYA Website http://www.hhya.org/
Rookies ($109) Spring 2024 Little League Age 7/8
Minors ($130) Spring 2024 Little League Age 9/10
Majors ($135) Spring 2024 Little League Age 11/12
Teens ($150) Spring 2024 Little League Age 13/14

Fall Baseball Season runs Labor Day Weekend - End of October Games will be primarily Saturday/Monday for Minors, Saturday/Wednesday for Majors and Saturday/Monday and/or Wednesday for Rookies. First Games likely to begin week of 09/02/2024 with practices starting mid/end August. Teen games will be scheduled by the coaches.
Games are usually 1 - 2 days per week, practices decrease as season advances

Teams that form will play against one another at each age level as well as against local teams (Haddon Township & Barrington,, etc.)

HHYA Intramurals Start this weekend! [December 9th and 10th]

Overview
For those that are new to the intramural program. The program is structured where we group kids by grade depending on the number of registrations. It will take the next two weeks to organize the groups. We ask that you try to at least make of of the sessions over the next two weekends. When the season starts, the commitment is one practice a week and games on the weekends. We focus on having fun with moderate instruction to help them develop.

Equipment and Uniforms
All athletes will receive a reversible jersey and a basketball that they can keep.

Volunteers
Currently we do not have enough volunteers to coach teams in certain age groups. We are in desperate need for volunteers. You do not need to be an expert and it is more about supervision. Most practices will have more than one team and the weekends will have multiple volunteers at those sessions. We ask that you consider volunteering.

Girls 3rd-6th grade
The girls sessions will start this Saturday, December 9th at 11:30 am to 1:00pm at Woodland School in Barrington. The second session will be on December 16th at the same time and place.

Boys 3rd grade
The 3rd grade boys session will be held Sunday, December 10th from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm at the Haddon Heights Height School. The second session will be held on December 17th, at 1:00 pm - 2:30 at the Haddon Heights High School. [Note the two different times.]

Boys 4th - 6th grade
The 4th - 6th grade boys session Sunday, December 10th from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm at the Haddon Heights Height School. The second session will be held on December 17th at the same time and place.

Travel Basketball (4th - 6th Grade)
- Travel is offered for 4th - 6th grade Boys and Girls (separate divisions) who are seeking to play competitively in the SJBL (boys) and ICBL (Girls). Please note this is a league change from prior year and there are residency requirements. This is for residents of sending districts to Haddon Heights High School only. Spots will be limited and there will most likely be cuts [see note on intramural option below].

- Teams of up to 12 participants have weekly games and practices that vary in time and location. Families should plan for up to 4 events per week between practices and games. Players receive a basketball and a long-sleeved shooting shirt. Uniforms are provided and returned after the season. Travel basketball
begins in early November with tryouts and concludes in late February after playoffs.

Intramural Basketball (3rd - 6th Grade)
- Intramural is for participants who want to have fun while learning the fundamentals of the game. The younger ages will get a mix of instruction and modified games, while the older ages will compete in game settings.
- The Intramural season runs mid December through the end of February. Intramural teams typically have 1 practice and 1 game per week against other HHYA Teams. All Intramural players receive a basketball and reversible jersey. See note below on our partnership with Barrington.

Clinic Basketball (K - 2nd Grade)
- The Clinic is the foundation of our Basketball program which offers 50 minute Training Sessions for young boys and girls during designated time slots. Players learn the fundamentals through drills and training from coaches and parent volunteers. Participants receive a basketball and HHYA T-Shirt.
