Almost 5 decades, 48 years, SPECTRUM has celebrated and rang in the New Year with countless followers and friends. This year was no exception ! Another sold out crowd ! What a wonderful audience ! The dance floor was packed almost every song !

First and foremost, I would like to THANKS our many followers and patrons for their unending support ! This year was a difficult one for me, as many are aware that I am battling Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. This has resulted into the cancelation of several of our regular performances and dances. We also did not book any dates for 2024 as I did not know what the next steps in my chemotherapy would bring. Hopefully, this was not SPECTRUM’s final performance…..
I am very hopeful that SPECTRUM will return in late 2024-2025, God willing of course.

Secondly, I would like to thank the band members for sharing their talents. Together, we make up a great team and provide you with great music. I started SPECTRUM in August of 1975. Over the years there have been minimal changes. In fact, Carroll Foltz, on drums has celebrated 44 New Year’s Eve’s with SPECTRUM. Ruthy Stenger-Japzon on Vocals and Keyboards joined SPECTRUM in in 1984, Mike Heyser, on Vocals and Keyboards joined SPECTRUM in 2014. Lydia Vickers, on Sax and several other woodwinds and great harmonies is the newcomer as she joined SPECTRUM in 2022. So, as you can see, we have actually aged together, much like family.

Finally, I would be remiss if I did not take the opportunity to THANK Fred & Karen Nugent, Glenn & April King and the officers of the Knights for all their hard work in pulling this event together. Fred and his blue ribbon team worked very hard setting up, tearing down and preparation of all the food and beverages. They made this sold out event perfect ! A fantastic time was had by everyone in attendance !

New this year, the exhibitions will not run concurrently. Cumberland Valley Photographers will be on view from March 23 through June 2, 2024. Cumberland Valley Artists will be June 15 through Aug. 26, 2024. However, the dates for submission and evaluation are the same for both exhibitions.
