Every year more than 4.4 million referrals are made to child protection agencies involving more than 7.9 million children. A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds. We have made it our mission to advocate for children in all ways possible.

In 2008, we hosted the first annual Rock Me Don't Shake Me - Musicians Against Child Abuse. June 15, 2024 will mark the 16th year of hosting this annual event, which continues to grow every year. Last year we raised over $40,000, which directly benefited organizations such as the Labor of Love, Safe Sleep Program, CASA, Inc. (Citizens Assisting and Sheltering the Abused), BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse), the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Washington County, and many others.

Our goal is to make this year’s event even more successful, but we need your help. If you would like to sponsor this year's event, please contact us. Every dollar helps us make a difference in the lives of our children. We must do everything we can to protect the most vulnerable in our community; it is only !

*Sponsorships due no later than April 30, 2024*

Stop the cycle, break the silence! It is time to build a world where can be safe and enjoy their childhood without any fear.

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and we've turned Downtown Hagerstown Blue. The prevention of child abuse requires not only raising awareness, but also working together to stop it.

Every year, countless cases of child abuse are reported and investigated by child protective services agencies. It is essential that every child has the right to grow up in a safe and loving home, free from any form of abuse or neglect. As a society, we need to come together and ensure that no child has to live in fear or suffer in silence. Let's work together to protect our children and provide them with a brighter future!

Special thanks to all who purchased a sign, our volunteers, The City of Hagerstown, the Hagerstown Elks 378, Douglas A Fiery Funeral Home, Pro Pools, YMCA of Hagerstown, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Hagerstown Police Department, Callas Contractors, Williamsport Redmen Conococheague Tribe #84, The Maryland Theatre, and TMG Studios.

Our Story -

In 2007, 4 1/2 mo. old Justice Myers-Cannon was brutally beaten by Floyd Bingaman III, causing severe injuries that ultimately led to his death. 3 years later (almost to the day) Bella Appel was killed by her father, dying of the same injuries as Baby Justice. Both babies died of Blunt Force Trauma, had crushed skulls, injuries to their eyes, severe bleeding of the brain, and other injuries too traumatic to describe. Bingaman and McKee (Bella's killer) were convicted and sentenced to 30 years and 35 years respectively. Since the incidents the families have been strong advocates for child abuse. On April 11, 2016, "Justice's Law" Passed on the House floor under the Justice's Reinvestment Act and was signed on May 19, 2016 by Gov. Hogan with the change of UP TO LIFE for Child Abuse Resulting in Death. It had been a Long Journey of 9 years, but with A LOT of Support, Help, Dedication and NEVER GIVING UP, We Did It!! Every year the family of Justice hold the Rock Me, Don't Shake Me- Musicians Against Child Abuse event in the local community to raise awareness of child abuse and to support the people/organizations who rescue/aid children in need.
