Not sure if you can relate to this but do you ever know that something would be beneficial for you but you have NO idea where to start with looking at various product options?

That's kind of how it is with picking the right lubricant!

Not only are there different types of lubricant, but then there are several things to consider in order to ensure you are using a quality product.

(HINT - most products will alter the vaginal pH, kill off the good bacteria and can even lead to more dryness).

If you want our best recommendations, Comment or DM us "l**e" and we will send you our list of favorite products (and an article on what to look for)!

If you have been experiencing vaginal drynness, low libido and discomfort during s€x, it might be time to add a lubricant. But how do you know which one to pick?

Disclaimer - pain with s€x is not normal BUT sometimes it does help alleviate pain from a drynness issue or the vaginal tissue is more sensitive or fragile (during hormonal changes).

Ok, here's the scoop! There are different types - water-based, oil-based, and silicone...and finding the right type is important based on what you are experiencing and how you use it. So, here are the differences:

1.Water Based: As the most common lubricant, it will work for most people. However, it will soak in the fastest and more natural products that use aloe will soak in even quicker.
✅ Good starting point if you have never used lubricant
✅ Toy and condom safe
❌ You have significant dryness issues

2. Oil Based: Longer lasting and provides better lubrication than water-based. However, it can increase your risk for infections and stain your sheets. Coconut oil is a popular, natural option but can alter the vaginal pH and increase risk of infection
✅ Water based l**e doesn't last and you need to reapply
❌ Prone to yeast or bacterial infections
❌ Do not use with toys or condoms

3. Silicone: If dryness is an issue that you find yourself re-applying a water-based lubricant, then silicone is likely your best bet. It will last long and increase the "slipperiness" rather than stickiness.
✅ Long-lasting with less mess compared to oil-based
✅ Best option for low estrogen
✅ Hypoallergenic
❌ Less "natural" option
❌ Do not use with toys or condoms

After you figure out what type to use, then it's important to have the right product because the vast majority of products on the market can alter the pH, kill off the good bacteria, and potentially lead to more dryness and irritation.

Trust us, it's a rabbit hole to figure out what to use!)

So if you want our best recommendations, Comment or DM us "l**e" and we will send you our list of favorite products (and an article on what to look for)!

🚨Last 7 Days of Client Appreciation Month 🚨

😅 If you're thinking "how does that happen?" right now, let me explain!

While doing cupping, this client had some pretty significant adhesions along the ligaments that run on top of the spine. Those are the divets you see within the cup. Essentially, the ligaments are stuck and don't move nicely.

The problem with this is that it can limit mobility, make you feel stiff and "stuck", cause pain and impact how you can do certain movements.

For this client, this was at her epidural site (and is actually a pretty common finding for those that had an epidural) and she was having quite a bit of low back pain.

So no, it's not all in your head if you feel like you've had pain or stiffness in your back after having an epidural. It's very possible that you may have something similar to this 👆

We all carry stress, some loads heavy than others. Fertility struggles can add to that and completely overwhelm our bodies. A great quick and convenient way to try to lower our stress levels is belly breathing. No special equipment required and can be done anywhere.

Belly breathing, or diaphragmatic breathing, can help lower stress by activating the body's relaxation response. It can also help regulate the nervous system and improve emotional regulation.

Here's how to do it:

✅Find a comfy spot to sit or lie down. Place one hand over your belly and the other on your upper chest.
✅Take slow, deep breaths: in through your nose and out through your mouth.
✅Your hand on your chest should remain still, and only the hand on your belly will rise and fall.
✅ Try this 1-2 times a day, for 2 mins. Great to do first thing in the morning and/or right before. If you have a super stressful day adding a session in can really help regulate your system.

No, foot treatment isn’t the usual around here! 🤣

But the red light is!

Dr. Brenda’s been using the red light to help her sprained ankle heal but we use it regularly with clients to heal from pelvic pain, perineal tears, C-section incisions, Diastasis, and prolapse.

Red light therapy is also good for overall health and wellness with lowering inflammation, improving sleep, decreasing stress, and strengthening your ligaments, muscles and bones!

Women tell us all the time that "they just leak a little bit but that's probably normal". But the truth is, it's actually not normal.

Common but not normal.

So while many women deal with these issues, there is actually something that can be done to resolve them. It's not just "because you had a baby" or "because you are getting older" or any other excuse. Pelvic floor issues can happen to anyone at any age.

If you want to know how to resolve these issues, comment "lady issues" to get our FREE guide.

We love to hear our clients say they feel great when they leave a treatment session with us! That's why we are here, to get you back to doing the things you love. Thank you Rachel for sharing your experience!!

Ready to reset after the holiday weekend? After all the celebrations, we are right there with you feeling bloated, tired and sluggish.

While prepping for the upcoming week (which is always a bit harder to get into after having time off), focus on small things to help get your body back on track.

Start with drinking enough water everyday. Aim for about 80-100 oz of water in a day, more if you are exercising in the heat.

Getting adequate hydration will eplenish your body, eliminate bloat and fuel your muscles.

This alone will help you feel better! Start small with something manageable instead of trying to make big changes.

Have you seen the headline about Kourtney Kardashian "keeping her pelvic floor tight" after baby?

Well, "tight" is not typically a good thing...

Just think of having tightness in your back and how it can limit your mobility and give you discomfort. The same happens on the pelvic floor!

The pelvic floor needs to be able to contract and relax and move to accommodate the different pressures in the abdomen. A "tight" pelvic floor does not do these things and leads to issues such as leaking, pain, and pressure.

If you want to know more about how to have a healthy pelvic floor (that isn't "tight"), comment "lady issues" and we will send you our FREE Guide on it!

Raise your hand if you think you need to do kegels in order to resolve pelvic floor issues such as leaking or pain with s€x? 🙋‍♀️

The truth is, the vast majority of the time, kegels could actually be making the issues worse. Before doing kegels, it’s important to know what the muscles are actually doing.

So, a better idea is to try these 3 alternatives to help optimize the pelvic floor function:

✨ Belly Breathing: The diaphragm and pelvic floor work together so spending a few minutes practicing belly breathing will help restore optimal pelvic floor function

✨ Butterfly Stretch: This stretch targets the pelvic floor muscles and will help improve mobility in that area and ultimately, better function

✨ Hip Hinge: Strengthening the glutes and core muscles with this exercise helps retrain the activation patterns so that your body isn’t solely relying on the pelvic floor muscles for support.

🎉 If you want more tips to help your pelvic floor, comment “lady issues” and we will send you our FREE guide with our best recommendations 🎉

This week I was able to get outside and do some mountain biking with the kids at Minooka Park and it was so much fun! Not only do I like doing something active, it is amazing what spending time in nature can do for you.

Did you know that being in nature helps lower your stress levels and boosts your mood?

And it's so much easier to do that in summer in Wisconsin because the sunshine and warmth feels so nice after winter 🙂

If you want more ways to get outside, try a walk in the morning or over lunch, sitting outside with coffee, or meeting a friend at the park after work.

What's your favorite way to get outside in summer?

Did you know that 82.5% of women do not get enough magnesium?
And did you know that there are multiple types of magnesium and different formulations that affect the absorption of it?

That's why it's so common for people to get GI issues when they take a magnesium supplement! But you won't with ours!

It's specially formulated to get absorbed in the gut and not cause gas or diarrhea. And it has a blend of magnesium citrate and magnesium glycinate to help with constipation, muscle soreness and fatigue, and relaxation.

Learn more about it here: https://www.revita-well.com/shop/p/magnesium-1

Yes, we know it has been SO hot and humid all week and relaxing in a pool probably sounds WAYYY better than a sauna...BUT, there are so many great benefits to using the sauna regularly.

✨ Lower cortisol and stress
✨ Better sleep
✨ Improved healing and immunity
✨ Elimination of harmful toxins
✨ Reduced muscle soreness

Our clients that are dealing with pelvic health and hormone issues can greatly benefit from all of these outcomes! That's why we have one in office and encourage booking regular sessions to get better outcomes from your treatment.

If you want to try it out for yourself, book your sauna session here:

Perimenopause is the time to be proactive! The further into menopause you get, the harder it is to make larger gains.

If you're in perimenopause (or over the age of 40), do these 3 things:
✅ Lift Weights
✅ Walk Daily
✅ Prioritize Protein

Together, they will help you build strong muscles and bones, avoid the common perimenopause weight gain, and lower cortisol levels.

If this was helpful., please like and share it with a friend that you know could also benefit from it 🙂

"Oh no, not again!"

As I was sitting in the restaurant at lunch with my mom, she suddenly flushed red and started fanning herself.

Another hot flash

And she's been in menopause for 15 years at this point! But it sparked some great conversation about different symptom-relief options. It's a conversation that I have had with countless clients before.

The internet is FULL of different ideas and ways to alleviate symptoms during menopause...and most of them aren't effective.

However, there are 4 supplements that have been shown in the research to help with common symptoms such as hot flashes, brain fog, low libido, fatigue, memory issues, and weight gain.

If you want to read more about these supplements, comment the word "BLOG" below and we will DM you the link to read more!

We hear from so many of our clients who are post-partum that they feel so much core weakness...and some noticing bulging on on the stomach (like the picture) with exercise or certain activities like picking up their kids.

🚨Bulging is not normal and is a sign of too much pressure, it's also a sign you might have Diastasis Recti. 🚨

Diastasis Recti (DRA) or a separation of the ab muscles, can happen during and/or after pregnancy. Some exercises can make the separation worse, or like mentioned above cause too much pressure in the abdomen.

The good news is, we can help you! We worked with this client who noticed bulging when she went to pick up her kids and We know it's not realistic to just say, "don't pick them up!". Our doctor was able to focus on manual release of the abdominal fascia, obliques, and the diaphragm. Once there was more mobility, we worked with her to review proper lifting form and breathing techniques. Proper breathing is so important to help manage the pressure in our bellies.

After a couple sessions with our doctor and her home exercise program, this client was able to see huge progress and able to pick up her kids without bulging!

Curious if you have DRA and if we can help you treat it? We'd be happy to get you scheduled for an initial appointment, click the link in our bio!

We hear from so many busy women how hard it is to get a solid workout in at home. Either the kids are running around and bugging you, or you get home from work and lose all motivation to move your body.

Trust us, we can TOTALLY relate.

If you need the accountability (like us 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️) or just want to try something new, we'd love to have you join us for Pilates Reformer classes on Monday evenings at 7PM!!! Best of all your first class is half off!

I'll never forget the day that one of my clients that I was working with for birth prep told me that her childbirth class educator told them that they should all be doing at least 100 kegels a day to prepare for delivery...

My jaw dropped to the floor and I couldn't even pretend to hide my shock.

You see, at that point I had worked with hundreds of women for birth prep and was in the middle of collecting data for our research study on a birth prep protocol. And everything was suggesting that women should NOT be doing kegels to prepare for delivery.

Let alone 100 kegels!

(Plus, I would bet that it is almost near impossible to do 100 kegels in a day without compensating for any woman...)

So if you're preparing for delivery right now, please skip the kegels. And tell all your other expecting mom friends the same...
