Terry Baucom, member of Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, was always a gentleman at the tables after a show. Another giant from the great groups when I was learning what bluegrass was supposed to sound like.
1952-2023. In memory of Terry Baucom.
The IBMA sends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Terry Baucom in the wake of his passing. A true legend, there is no way to overstate the influence of “The Duke of Drive” on the banjo and all of bluegrass music. We were honored to have both he and his beloved Cindy Baucom at World of Bluegrass this year as Terry was presented with the 2023 IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award. This is a momentous loss for the bluegrass community and he will be forever missed.
