This Wednesday will mark our 60th day as the new owners/operators of this incredible establishment. We want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us during the transition. Metropolitan Baking Co. in Hamtramck Strengthens Operations - DBusiness Magazine Metropolitan Baking Co., a Hamtramck-based bakery, has recently expanded its operations to more than 110,000-square-feet on 20 acres of land.

We have immediate openings for several Machine Operator and Entry Level Wrapping Department Positions at our Wholesale Baking Company in Hamtramck, Michigan.

Candidates will be responsible for several bakery manufacturing activities. Candidates must be willing and able to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities may include the following:

-Wrapping Machine Operator
-Production Line Operator
-Trayer/Product Feeder
-Duties may vary depending on bakery plant needs.

Job Requirements

Must Have experience in a factory or automated facility
-Able to communicate and work effectively in a team environment.
-Must be willing to listen to your supervisors instructions
-Ability to frequently lift, carry and stack 5-30 pound bakery baskets, trays, racks, pans and pallets.
-Ability to work in a noisy, hot work environment.
-Ability to stand for an extended period of time.

Metropolitan Baking Company has a few immediate openings at our Hamtramck, Michigan facility.

Responsibilities may include the following:

* Entry Level General Labor

* Wrapping Machine Operators

* Wrapping Machine Trayers

* Mixer Operators

* Oven Operators

* General Cleanup

Duties and hours may vary depending on need, but you are guaranteed at least 40 hours per week but the work is averaging 50+

Position Requirements

* High School diploma or equivalent.

* Must be able to communicate and work effectively in a team environment.

* Must be able to frequently lift, carry and stack 25+ lb pans, pallets, and ingredient containers.

* Must be able to work around and with various bakery machinery equipment.

* Must be able to follow written instructions and listen to a supervisor

* Must be detail oriented.

* Ability to work in a noisy, hot work environment.

* Ability to stand for an extended period of time.

* Previous manufacturing/baking/sanitation experience is preferred but not required

Metropolitan Baking Company unanimously VOTED today to donate 50,000 Sweet Hawaiian Dinner Rolls to the Detroit Salvation Army.
